Tommye Staley Would Love to See You

Tommye Staley, a science teacher at Milford High School for 24 years, at Wesley College for 16 years, at Del-Tech in Dover, and a longtime member of DTS is coming to Delaware to debut her first book, Washing Worms: Memories of a Southern Girl. It is a beautiful story of a little girl growing up on an isolated island farm in central Arkansas in the 1940’s, a time when no one locked their doors and left their keys in their unattended vehicles. It was a time without fear. It tells of her relationships with the folks who worked on the farm and how they influenced her young life until a major change occurred in her young innocent life. This is her first book! However, she wrote the screenplay for the movie, Christmas Journey (on Amazon Prime) and several short plays.

While in Delaware, she will be making multiple appearances at her Meet & Greet the Author events where she will be talking about her book and selling signed copies (cash or check only). She will be at the following locations and would love to see you: Dolce Bakery & Coffee Shop on Walnut St in Milford on Monday, Aug. 12 at 7:30am, Milford Senior Center on Park Ave on Mon. Aug. 12 @12:30pm, Dover Christian Church at 1738 Forrest Ave., Dover on Tuesday, Aug. 13 @ 6pm. She will also appear at 2 local theaters: Possum Point Players in Georgetown on Thur. Aug. 15 @ 6pm and at Riverfront Theater in Milford on Fri. Aug. 16 @ 7pm.

If you can’t come to any of the events, her book is also available online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, all good bookstores and as an e-book for Kindle and Nook. She would love to see all her former fellow teachers and students while she is here.
