2024 PMI Nova Scotia Scholarship recipient:
Alicia, Business Administration, Ivany Campus
"I have completed over three-quarters of my journey at NSCC, and with your help, I am sure to see it through to the final quarter. The financial burden of my tuition has been completely lifted, and I can now focus on completing my education and partaking in initiatives that teaches me valuable skills that will prepare me for challenges in the professional world."
"Thank you for supporting me as the recipient of the 2024 PMI Nova Scotia Scholarship. I took a leap of faith in leaving my home country to pursue my dreams, so thank you for also having confidence in me and honouring me with this award. I've always been passionate about understanding and improving systems, whether in business or technology. This curiosity led me to pursue Business Administration at NSCC, a school I chose for its hands-on, real-world approach that offers opportunities for both academic and personal growth.
My ultimate goal is to become a well-rounded IT project manager and business consultant, bridging the gap between technical solutions and business needs. Receiving this scholarship is an incredible honour and motivates me to continue pushing toward my goals. It inspires me to excel further, knowing that I have the support to turn my ambitions into reality. I'm excited to continue learning, growing, and eventually making a meaningful impact in the Business & IT world.
As an international student, completely new to Canada, my inner voice often screams questions of invalidity - "Am I good enough?"; "Will I be able to achieve my goals?"; "Will I be accepted in this space?"; "Can my potential shine through my work and dedication?"; "Will anyone give me a chance?". To be acknowledged by the very professional body that I hope to make an impact in, in the very near future, has completely hushed those screams. Being awarded this scholarship is a stamp of approval, and it has motivated me to work steadfastly toward my professional goal of becoming a well-rounded IT project manager and consultant. My next step is to attain the CAPM."
