Spokane Fire Department Station 18 serves north Spokane, which includes a large concentration of apartment complexes and nursing facilities. Station 18 unique in design, as it is the only fire station in the City of Spokane that has two stories. The building was constructed this way due to its location on a narrow strip of land on Lincoln Street. Since Station 18 serves the northernmost portion of SFD’s jurisdiction, they often work closely with personnel from Spokane County Fire District 9.

STATION 18 Apparatus

ENGINE 18 - 2016 built Pierce Arrow XT PUC. These pumpers are built as compact as possible to deal with the narrow, rough streets of Spokane, carrying 500 gallons of water and nearly half a mile of hose with a 1500GPM pump.

• Engine 52 - 2001 Pierce Dash Engine – 1250 gpm pump, 500 gallon water tank. It is used as a reserve or call back engine as needed.

• Tower 51 - 2005 Pierce Dash PAP with a 85’ aerial ladder. Tower 51 has a platform at the tip of the ladder allowing firefighters to work off of an elevated platform. It is equipped with a 1500 GPM pump and a 350 gallon water tank.

STATION 18 HISTORY

Original Station at on E. Cozza. Opened in 1970 and closed in 2007 when the new Station 18 opened on Lincoln Rd.

Station 18 is one of the newer fire stations in Spokane. It was opened at 37 E. Cozza drive in 1970. In 2007 Station 18 moved to it current location on E. Lincoln Rd. Funding for building the new station was provided by a 1999 property tax bond measure approved by voters for new fire stations, a combined training and dispatch center, new fire trucks, and new breathing apparatus.
