Cynlluniwyd a chrewyd y prosiect F1 gan dri athro o Flwyddyn 5 a 6 yn Ysgol Gymuned y Fali. Ar ddechrau’r tymor, roedd y ffocws ar lais y plant. Gofynnwyd i’r disgyblion gynhyrchu syniadau ar gyfer y thema a daeth yn amlwg bod y plant eisiau dylunio trac F1, ond penderfynodd yr athrawon ychwanegu camau pellach. Prif nod y prosiect fyddai cyflwyno dogfen caniatâd cynllunio i Gyngor Sir Ynys Môn a fyddai’n cael ei hadolygu gan aelod o’r adran gynllunio cyn ei chyflwyno i’r cyngor cymuned. Trefnwyd y prosiect yn gyfres o gamau bach. Roedd yr amser a dreuliwyd ar bob cam yn amrywio o dasg i dasg.
Background
The F1 track project was designed and created by three teachers from Year 5 and 6 in Ysgol Gymuned y Fali. At the start of the term, the focus was on the children’s voice and the pupils were asked to generate ideas of what they would like to do as part of the F1 theme. It became apparent that the children wanted to design a F1 track, but we decided to take it one step further. The main aim of the project was to present a planning permission document to Anglesey County Council which would be reviewed by a member of the planning department before being put forward to the community council. The project was organised into a series of small steps. The time spent on each step varied from task to task.
Choosing a location - Dewis lleoliad
Ymwelodd y plant â chyfres o gaeau o amgylch Fali i ddod o hyd i safleoedd priodol ar gyfer y trac F1. Dewisodd y plant Cae Cleifiog, roedd y cae hwn wedi ei leoli yn agos i'r A5 a gyda mynediad da i ffordd ddeuol yr A55 sy'n cysylltu nifer o drefi ar hyd arfordir Gogledd Cymru.
The children visited a series of fields around Valley to find an appropriate sites for the F1 track. The children chose Cae Cleifiog, this field was situated close to the A5 and with good access to the A55 dual carriageway which connects many towns along the North Wales coast.
Ymweliad safle i gasglu gwybodaeth - Site visit to gather information
Treuliodd y plant brynhawn yn y cae yn mesur dimensiynau a lefelau lleithder, ac yn casglu data am draffig. Crëwyd cynllun cydweithredol rhwng yr athrawon i sicrhau bod ymchwil yn cael ei ddefnyddio’n effeithiol i ysgrifennu'r adroddiadau.
The children spent an afternoon in the field measuring dimensions and moisture levels, as well as collecting data about passing traffic. A collaborative plan was created between the teachers to ensure research was used effectively to write the reports.

Rhoddwyd adran benodol yn yr adroddiadau dwyieithog i barau o blant. Roedd pob adran yn cynnwys cwestiynau allweddol a ysgrifennwyd gan yr athrawon. Ymatebodd y plant i’r cwestiynau gan ddefnyddio’r data o’r cae a’r we.
Pairs of children were assigned a specific section in the bilingual reports. Each section included key questions written by the teachers. The children responded to the questions using the data from the field and the internet
Adroddiad Sain - Acoustic Report (Outsourced)
Er mwyn cynnal Asesiad Effaith Swn, cysylltwyd â Max Acoustics. Mae'r adroddiad yn canolbwyntio ar fethodoleg asesu, lefelau swn amgylcheddol a lleihau'r effeithiau o'r trac F1.
In order to conduct a Noise Impact Assessment, Max Acoustics were contacted. The report focuses on assessment methodology, environmental noise levels and reducing the effects of the F1 track.
Gwerthuso adolygiad gan y cyngor - Evaluating review from the council
Cyfunwyd yr adroddiadau, gan gynnwys llythyr cais i grynhoi'r wybodaeth yn y pecyn. Ysgrifennwyd y llythyr yn dilyn cyfres o gamau bach a ddysgwyd yn ystod gwersi llythrennedd. Daeth yr ymateb gan y cyngor ar ôl 3 wythnos, roedd yn ystyried pob agwedd o'r adroddiadau gan gynnwys materion cynllunio. Rhoddwyd caniatâd cynllunio.
The reports were combined, including a cover letter to summarise the information in the pack. The letter was written following a series of small steps taught during literacy lessons. The response from the council came after 3 weeks, it considered all aspects of the reports including planning issues. Planning permission was granted.
Ymchwil marchnad - Market research
Ymwelodd y plant â Track Môn lle cawsant gyfle i archwilio’r garejys a dysgu ychydig o hanes y safle. Darparodd yr ymweliad hwn ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer dyluniad y trac.
The children visited Track Môn where they had the opportunity to explore the garages and learn a bit of the site's history. This visit provided inspiration for the track design.
Ymweliad ag Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi i ddylunio trac - Visit to Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi to design track
Pwrpas yr ymweliad ag Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi oedd defnyddio meddalwedd CAD 2D a 3D. Dechreuodd y plant ddylunio modelau 3D ar gyfer stadiwm F1 gan ddefnyddio TinkerCad. Troswyd y dyluniadau i ffeiliau STL cyn eu trosglwyddo i'r argraffydd 3D. Isod, gallwch weld fideo o'r argraffydd 3D ar waith yn ogystal â model terfynol y trac/stadiwm.
The purpose of the visit to Holyhead High School was to use 2D and 3D CAD software. The children started designing 3D models for the F1 stadium using TinkerCad. The designs were converted to STL files before being transferred to the 3D printer. Below, you can see a video of the 3D printer in action, as well as the final model of the track/stadium.
Ymholiad gyda'r cyngor cymuned - Inquiry with community council
Y cam olaf yn y broses oedd cyflwyno'r caniatâd cynllunio i'r cyngor cymuned. Gweithiodd y plant mewn parau i siarad am y 6 adroddiad gwahanol cyn ateb cyfres o gwestiynau. Parhaodd yr ymchwiliad dros awr a chasglwyd rhai syniadau defnyddiol ynghylch a fyddai'r boblogaeth leol yn cymeradwyo'r cynlluniau.
The final step in the process was to present the planning permission to the community council. The children worked in pairs to speak about the 6 different reports before answering a series of questions. The inquiry lasted over an hour and gathered some useful insights as to whether the local population would approve the plans.
