Dear Bluejay Family,

As we all settle into the routines of school, sports, and activities, and the 100th Broussard Community Fair around the corner, it’s easy to feel swept up in the busyness of the season. With so much going on, a few friendly reminders can be helpful to keep everything running smoothly for everyone at St. Cecilia.

First, please make sure to check your lunch bills and stay up-to-date with any payments due. Staying current helps us provide nutritious meals to our students each day, and your support in this small way makes a big difference. The payment link, which will also provide you with your balances, can be found here.

Additionally, a gentle reminder about our car line exit procedure: tickets are being issued to those turning left on St. Pierre. This is not something we control. For the safety of our community and the flow of traffic, all vehicles must exit the car line by turning right. Then, if you need to make a left turn, you may do so at Jefferson Street. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work together to ensure safe and smooth operations.

Thank you for your attention to these details amidst your busy schedules! We appreciate everything you do to make St. Cecilia a supportive, thriving community for our children.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

“Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all, but especially to those who belong to the family of the faith.” - Galatians 6:9-10

National Vocations Awareness Week

National Vocation Awareness Week, which starts today, is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life through prayer and education. It is also a time to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.

Please join us in prayer for increased vocations in our Church:

God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom as priests, deacons, and consecrated persons. Send your Holy Spirit to help others to respond generously and courageously to your call. May our community of faith support vocations of sacrificial love in our youth and young adults. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

8th Grade Service Project

Each year our 8th graders host a faculty vs. 8th grade volleyball game. The students choose a beneficiary for the proceeds, plan the event, and run the night. On Monday, November 4th, the city and subcontractors will begin work at St. Pierre and Main St. intersection, starting at 8 a.m. This should not affect traffic flow during pick-up or drop-off but will impact parking in front of the church due to equipment in the gravel area on Main St. Please plan accordingly for that morning!

Chapel & Library Repairs – In Progress!

You may have noticed on Wednesday October 16th that there was quite a buzz around the back door of the chapel! Repairs are underway there and in the front of our library. With a bit of help from this beautiful weather, the work should only take 7-10 days. You may have also noticed three new arched awnings, one over each window of the chapel. These serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose.

Dear Bluejay Family,

This week saw only our cross country team in action. They ran in the Christian School League Cross Country Championship on Monday at Ascension Episcopal’s campus in Youngsville and also the Middle School State Championship in Pineville. Congratulations to Lauren Froehlich for finishing in the top 25 in the state! She received a top finisher’s shirt. The kids performed admirably as they have done all year. They have reduced their times considerably since the first practices in July. The true accomplishment of this cross country team is that they became consistent runners. To see the smiles after total exhaustion and effort is truly heartwarming as a coach. Special thanks to Coaches Morlas Schoenfeld, Kristen Schoenfeld, and John Bergeron for their dedication and instruction all season. They not only coached the sport, but the kids as well.

Please see the results below for the Championship Meet:
