Dear Bluejay Family,
I want to offer a huge thank you to all who came out to support last night’s Rockin’ with the Bluejays event. It was a wonderful evening filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit. Our families, faculty, staff, and friends all enjoyed the delicious food and beverages, and the band provided an incredible soundtrack for the night. Your support and enthusiasm make events like this truly special and memorable.
Tomorrow morning, we are excited to welcome Bluejay alumni of all ages back to campus for a special Mass at Sacred Heart at 8:30 a.m. After Mass, we will host a light reception in our Memorial Library. This is a fantastic opportunity for our alumni to reconnect with the school and each other, and we look forward to hearing their stories and sharing in the memories that make St. Cecilia so unique.
Thank you again for your continued support and for being such an essential part of our Bluejay community. We look forward to seeing you all at upcoming events and activities.
Wishing you a blessed and joyful week ahead!
Grace & Peace,
Erin B. Henry

Color Run & st. cecilia fund
We are excited to announce that plans are underway for the 9th Annual Color Run that will take place Thursday, October 10th. This year, we have some exciting changes in how students will be able to participate. Businesses and families will still have the opportunity to support our event through sponsorship, but ALL students will be able to participate if we reach our participation goals for the St. Cecilia Fund. No individual registrations will be necessary IF we reach our goals of 70% family participation AND $18,000 for the St. Cecilia Fund.* St. Cecilia families who own a business and sponsor will count towards the family participation goal but will not count towards the $18,000 family goal. We still need your sponsorships for our event.
We will offer the opportunity to purchase Color Run t-shirts again this year. That link will be sent out very soon.
Our annual appeal is now branded as the St. Cecilia Fund and will be a segmented approach to raise funds toward our operating budget. St. Cecilia will host a Family Giving Week beginning September 30th with a goal of 70% family participation and a dollar amount of $18,000. If you would like to donate early, that works too. Participate now by clicking on the link below. If we reach that goal before the close of Family Giving Week on October 4th, EVERY St. Cecilia student will be able to participate in our 9th Annual Color Run.
Your participation will greatly impact St. Cecilia School. If every family gives at least $55, we will reach our goals. Each family will receive a customized letter in the mail giving more information on the St. Cecilia Fund.
Links to support the St. Cecilia Fund and sponsor this year’s Color Run are below along with opportunities for our students to win prizes and bragging rights. Thank you for supporting St. Cecilia!
Have a Great Evening,
Sheree Prince

Dear Bluejay Family,
Due to Hurricane Francine, this week was a short one for the Bluejays. Only volleyball and cross country were in action. The volleyball teams hosted our cross town school ARCA. The night was filled with great volleyball. We won 2 and lost 2 on the night. The football team practiced and had film study to finish their open week before the regular season. The cross country team ran in the Sargent Memorial Meet in New Iberia on Saturday. For many of our runners, it was their first meet of their running careers. Our veteran runners did not disappoint, either. Everyone did very well, despite running in very sloppy conditions. We have opened registration for basketball for 5th through 8th grade boys and girls.
Monday, 9/9
- 5th Grade Blue Volleyball vs. ARCA-L
- 6th Grade Blue Volleyball vs. ARCA-L
- 7th Grade Volleyball vs. ARCA- W
- 8th Grade Volleyball vs. ARCA-W
Saturday, 9/14
- Sargent Memorial Cross Country Meet

Please see the correspondence below from Coach Joy LeBlanc, the assistant softball coach at Teurlings. She has a great opportunity to get a leg up on softball for those that are interested.
My name is Joy LeBlanc and I am the assistant softball coach at Teurlings High School. I will be having hitting sessions this fall. Can you please forward this information to all of your 6th and 7th grade softball players.
The hitting camps will be on Friday afternoons and they will be from 3:30-5:00 at Teurlings Catholic High School softball field. I plan to keep them small so I can work with each player individually. I would like to stay with 6 - 8 players only. I will be breaking down the swing and focusing on the lower half and their swing path. These are two major issues a lot of players have when they first get into high school. Each week I will progress on drills and tackle important pieces of the swing. The Fridays I will be doing these are: Sept. 20th, Sept 27th, Oct. 4th, Oct. 11, and Oct 25. I plan to continue through December but I will get you those dates later. The fee is $35 per session. Please email me at joywleblanc@gmail.com to secure your spot. I will not take more than 8 players.
As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers are admitted free for home games in our gym.
The Sacred Heart Knights of Columbus Council 7557 will be hosting its annual Soccer Challenge for kids 9-14 years old. It will be held on Sunday, September 22nd at 1:00 pm on the soccer fields behind St. Pius Elementary in Lafayette. If you have a child that qualifies and wants to represent Sacred Heart and St. Cecilia, please come and compete. Registration is on site. If you have any questions, contact the Grand Knight, John Tilly via email at johntilly24@gmail.com.
The schedules are in and available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay athletics.
Have a blessed day,
Scott Boudreaux
