It’s Ascension day in France which means it’s an extra long weekend and they have been blessed with super warm weather!
After a leisurely breakfast and catching up on news back home (no need for medical intervention for Frankie on a potential hip dysplasia- Yay!) We finally departed for our 60km plus ride today as the beachside village was descended upon by holiday revellers staying in nearby campgrounds or holiday villas armed with beach umbrellas and beach paraphernalia.
Unfortunately for you our photos are similar to previous days as we again cycled through beautiful pine forests. Whilst a big day for kms, the ticked over quickly and easily as the path was in excellent condition.
Again, the locals were out in force on the bike paths with many families and their young, either in trailers or riding all over the path only keeping right at the command of a parent seeing the potential of a mishap.
By mid afternoon we were back along the coast and popular beaches with carparks full and people everywhere making their pilgrimage to the beaches
We made most of the warm balmy weather by finishing off the evening with a gelato after 10pm and wandered the streets admiring the multi-million euro holiday villas all meticulously renovated or maintained.
One final day of cycling finishing off in the popular French beach resort of Biarritz. Let’s see how busy it will be?
