The Drive to Quebec was a great time to get to know each other. The weather was perfect and the music was fantastic. Tricia and Jake led the games of impostor and charades. We had lunch at A&W which is a common fast food chain similar to Five Guys. The burgers, fries and root beer were great. We arrived at the hotel a little after 3 pm and quickly changed to head into Vieux (Old) Quebec. We found a great place for dinner. and had time to wander around before our Ghost Tour. The tour was fascinating and our host led us into some dark streets while telling us chilling stories of corporal punishments, murder and tragedy that happened during the city's 500+ years of history. The students asked great questions, and afterwards we returned to our hotel. Fortunately, no one had any nightmares.

Day 2 - March 10

Foundations of New France/Political and Military History

Today was our busiest day for sure. We started off by grabbing a coffee at the famous Tim Hortons and ended up for croissants and yogurts right outside of New Quebec. We then took a walk down to the Citadelle of Quebec and explored the history of how the Citadelle was structured and its importance. We then had a delicious lunch at Le Chic shack for some burgers. We then had a little bit of free time to explore more of the city and check out some shops. Eventually we all met up to take a tour of the famous Chateau Frontenac. A huge hotel overlooking the St. Lawrence River. We toured some of the rooms and before the tour ended, we had to make 2 wishes before leaving, which is fascinating! Right after we made our way to sled down a big toboggan run. Each of us gathered on 3 different sleds and raced each other down and got an awesome view of the river and city. We then made our way over to the Parliament and got a tour of it. This Parliament holds the National Assembly and has unbelievable architecture. After this, we got to go shopping a little bit more and buy some of our own souvenirs. We lastly met up and got food at a unique place called La Bouche. Some of us tried some traditional Quebec cuisine. This ultimately wraps up a very eventful but amazing day in Quebec!

We learned a lot about the indigenous people of Quebec. We went to a Maple Sugar Shack and had a traditional Quebecois meal and enjoyed music and dancing and learned how they make maple syrup the traditional way. Lastly we went to a light show in the woods that depicted the history of the indigenous people in Quebec. ~ Sam and Josh
