Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
January 15, 2024
The birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., January 15, 1929, is celebrated as a federal holiday on the third Monday in January each year. The day honors and pays tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy of promoting nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement against racial discrimination. It is also a day where citizens perform public service in his honor.
New Fairfield Town Offices will be closed on Monday, January 15th for the holiday honoring Dr. King.

Town Approved Vendors and Solicitors
All vendors and solicitors selling products or services in New Fairfield must obtain a license from the Town BEFORE conducting business or soliciting door-to-door. The application process for a license includes fingerprinting and background check by the CT State Police.
Beginning in January 2024, all approved vendors and solicitors will be issued an I.D. card, with their picture, on a lanyard that should be visible when they are soliciting. All vendors and solicitors must also carry their license with them while doing business in the Town. If approached by a solicitor, please ask to see their I.D. from the Town of New Fairfield. If they do not have a valid I.D. and license issued by the Town, ask them to leave or call the Police Department at 203-312-5701.
Approved vendors will be listed on the Town website, www.NewFairfield.org, under the Selectman's page.
