- This new process is designed to keep you better informed about your student’s health and wellness while at school.

2025-2026 Laptop Information/Reminders
- Please ensure that your student(s) plug in and charge Chromebooks so that they are fully charged before school.
- If for any reason you need to obtain a new charger, they can be purchased online from Amazon or other retailers. Charger information and examples can be found below:

NWEA assessment on 8/13 & 8/14
- Students will take the first NWEA assessment of the year on Wednesday (8/13) and Thursday (8/14).
- We will take this assessment two times during the year and use the information collected to tailor our instruction to meet the needs of each student.
- We will run our Testing Schedule in the morning on each of those days (8/13 & 8/14) to allow ample time to take the assessment.
Please ensure your child arrives by 8:45am with a fully charged computer and wired headphones.
Café Seat Selection at ZWest Begins Monday (8/11)!
Starting Monday, students will select their cafeteria seats for Quarter 1. This process helps us:
- ✅ Quickly and safely locate students in the cafeteria when needed
- ✅ Support student well-being by ensuring they have a consistent place to sit each day
- ✅ Allow students to start lunch more quickly and enjoy their time with friends
- Our Assistant Principals and Grade Level Counselors will be on hand during seat selection to provide support and answer questions.
- Seats are chosen each quarter, but if a student has an immediate need to change seats outside of these times, they are encouraged to connect with their Grade Level Counselor.
- We can’t wait to see our students enjoying lunch in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment!
Chromebook Insurance Information
To ensure your child’s device is protected throughout the school year, we highly encourage families to register for Chromebook Insurance. Coverage includes all damage and/or loss of the device.

- Grades 6-8 - Please enter the serial number found on your child's Chromebook.
- Grade 5 - You may enter TBD in place of the serial number, as devices will be distributed soon.

- Supply lists for the 2025-26 school year are now available on the school website. You can also click the button below. The lists will be available under each school’s webpage and included in the digital Back to School guide. This adjustment is made following HEA 1002 during the 2025 Indiana General Assembly.

Pre-ordering ZWMS Picture Day
- PRE-ORDERING for Zionsville West Middle School Picture Day is now open!
- To order with a debit or credit card, please follow the link below.
- All pre-ordering will close after Friday, August 22, 2025. You do not need to turn in any receipt or form for an online order.
- If you need to pay by cash or check, the office will have an order form available. Proof ordering will be available 4-6 weeks after photo day once packages have been delivered.
Child Find is the process for locating, identifying, and evaluating individuals with suspected disabilities who may need special education services, regardless of the severity of their disabilities. This is the responsibility of ZCS regardless of whether a parent affirmatively requests an evaluation. ZCS provides a Free Appropriate Public Education to any child who qualifies as having a disability, in accordance with federal and state laws. ZCS is responsible for locating all children ages 3 through 22 years of age with a suspected disability who reside within the boundaries of its district. With early identification and intervention, frustration and academic failure can be prevented, which in turn creates a positive learning experience for students. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), which encompasses academics, speech, language, and/or social and emotional learning, is an essential component of the child find process. Utilizing screening assessments, the ZCS team members identify students in need of intervention, implement action plans, and monitor the response to the targeted interventions. In addition, the evaluation referral procedures in ZCS provide the framework to refer students with suspected disabilities for evaluation.
