ELLIOTT JESSUP: lefty sharpshooter By Keith Bostic Jr.

Elliott Jessup, a left-handed freshman on NC A&T’s Women's basketball team from Winston Salem, North Carolina. She is a Kinesiology major that is concentrated on exercise science. As she expands her role, she hopes to make NC A&T’s women's basketball team the best program in the CAA.

Elliott was born and raised in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She stated that she started playing basketball in the first grade and continued to get better as the years progressed.

Elliott went to high school at RJ Reynolds high school in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She maintained a 4.0 gpa while playing basketball for her school. Jessup was a Mary Garber champion in 2022, Triad high school all-star classic MVP, and was ranked a top 100 player in her state. She was also named a part of the All-tournament team after Reynolds won the Davis & Pitt bracket of Mary Garber Holiday Tip-Off Classic. Elliot won the Monogram award which is given to someone that shows high character in their sport, school spirit in supporting all other athletes and has a winning attitude.

Elliott has a great support system from her parents Dana and Jeremy Jessup. Her father Jeremy is her role model she says. He is currently an assistant women's basketball coach at RJ Reynolds while her mother Dana records and spectates every game. Her dad has been an assistant her entire career at Reynolds. She also has two younger siblings.

In College, Elliott has started to play more guard which is a transition because in high school she played forward. As she has come off of the bench, Elliott had her most productive game against Hampton University on January 31, 2025. She had a career high 16 points and earned player of the game off of the bench that game and she won lady Aggie of the week in October.
