Welcome to Your Amplified Learning Experience!
In today's rapidly evolving educational landscape, faculty members play a pivotal role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences for students. The Pedagogy Amplified Community of Practice is designed to empower faculty members with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate cutting-edge digital tools and strategies into their teaching. This Community of Practice aims to foster a collaborative environment where faculty can share ideas, experiment with new technologies, and collectively elevate the quality of education at Weber State University.
Essential Question
How can we leverage digital platforms, like Adobe Creative Cloud, to promote student success at every stage of their journey from enrollment to degree to career to life-long learning—for all students?
GOALS
- Empower you to augment your courses with content options supported by digital resources and tools via in-depth analysis of teaching and learning techniques.
- As an Adobe Creative Campus, we want to establish an Adobe-centered community of practice among WSU instructors involved in enhancing digital fluency on campus and beyond.
- Practice and build the key skills, applicable pedagogical value, and standards for teaching alongside a variety of digital fluency tools.
- Create learning experiences and coursework to gain a Digital Fluency course designation.
- You will take away a digital teaching portfolio intended to inspire others and earn badges as an Adobe Creative Educator.
By 2025, Every Graduate of Weber State University will be Digitally Fluent.
Pedagogy Amplified Is An Avenue To Meet Our 2025 Goal
The Pedagogy Amplified Community of Practice consists of faculty across ranks, disciplines, and colleges, which enhances the diversity of ideas shared and the opportunity for interdisciplinary connections.
We will meet four times over the course of the fall and spring semesters. As a participant in this Community of Practice, you commit to:
- attending 3 of 4 scheduled meetings,
- produce at least one curriculum asset in a teaching portfolio based on each session,
- work in groups to create course offerings with a digital fluency attribute,
- work in groups to create micro- and macro-level strategies for digital fluency integration.
You will receive a small stipend, earn an Adobe Creative Educator Badge (Levels 1 and 2), and have the opportunity to apply for a WSU course-specific digital fluency attribute (beginning in Fall 2024).
The Community of Practice consists of four engaging sessions, each focused on specific aspects of digital pedagogy, Adobe tools, AI, and innovative teaching methods. These sessions are supplemented with hands-on activities to ensure practical understanding and skill development.
Our Schedule
- Session 1: Adobe Tools for Enhanced Learning: Learn how to leverage the Adobe Creative Cloud suite to create interactive and engaging assignments, fostering creativity in education.
