SFGSL Mission Statement
Who We Are!
The San Francisco Gay Softball League (SFGSL) is dedicated to building an inclusive, affirming, and community-driven softball league for LGBTQ+ players and allies of all identities and skill levels. Through sport, teamwork, and sportsmanship, we foster belonging, celebrate diversity, and create a safe and welcoming space on and off the field.
Our leagues
SFGSL offers multiple divisions to ensure inclusive, fair, and enjoyable play for athletes of all identities and experience levels.
We welcome everyone to play at SFGSL!
Open Division: Open to all genders and identities. Teams can include cisgender, transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse players. Focuses on competitive balance, sportsmanship, and community for those who enjoy a traditional league structure. Women+ Division: A welcoming space for women and gender-diverse players. Designed to be supportive and empowering while offering competitive, skill-appropriate play.
Spring Season Registration
Open A/B, C, D, E Divisions Registration Opens: Dec 15, 2025 Deadlines: Teams – Feb 18, 2026 | Players – May 3, 2026
Women’s+ B/C Division Registration Opens: Dec 15, 2025 Deadlines: Teams Feb 18, 2026 | Players – May 3, 2026
Women’s+ D Division Registration Opens: Dec 15, 2025 Deadlines: Teams Feb 18, 2026 | Players – June 3, 2026
Spring Season Fees:
- Team Fee: $600 per team; managers are invoiced and can self-sponsor or find a sponsor (email sponsorship@sfgsl.org for help).
- Player Fee: $100 per player with a minimum of 10 players per team; Free Agents start at $0 until placed on a team.
- Associate Fee: $55 for non-players who want to be on a roster or have voting rights; Dual Members pay $40 for both Women’s+ and Open Divisions.
- Limited Player Fee: $45 for Women’s+ players who will play a maximum of 5 games; exceeding this will require full player fee.
- Volunteer requirement is $125 only if team volunteer hours are not met—learn more on our website.
We have fun on and off the field
SFGSL loves spending time bonding with our teammates off the field and supporting our local community. If you join SFGSL, you won’t just gain a team—you’ll join a community filled with people who are like-minded and eager to find support through the LGBTQ community.
