The Client

Animal Adventure Park & The Preserve are Zoological Association of America (ZAA) accredited, interactive educational animal parks located in Harpursville, New York, just 15 minutes outside of Binghamton. Animal Adventure Park offers a 20-acre walk-thru zoo experience, allowing guests to explore immersive exhibits on foot, while its sister facility, The Preserve Safari, delivers a drive-thru wildlife adventure across more than 100 acres. Home to over 100 animal species, the parks are dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between guests and their animal ambassadors. Their mission centers on inspiring appreciation for wildlife, conservation, and the natural world through engaging, educational experiences.

The Campaign

Key Branding Labs collaborated with Animal Adventure Park and representatives from I LOVE NY to develop a flagship video asset for the Hidden Gems Campaign in the summer of 2025. The campaign centered on a fun, visually engaging video designed to capture the essence of the Animal Adventure experience. Through dynamic b-roll, immersive wildlife moments, and authentic guest interactions, the creative emphasized emotion, energy, and discovery rather than traditional promotion. The video was distributed across both Animal Adventure’s social media channels and I LOVE NY’s official Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok platforms, significantly amplifying statewide visibility and audience reach. KBL led on-site content production and visual storytelling, coordinating drone photography, scene composition, actor placement, and raw animal footage acquisition.

We approached this project with three primary objectives:

  1. Capture visually compelling wildlife content of 500+ species in their habitats.
  2. Ensure that the Park and Preserve were properly filled with willing participants who completed media releases.
  3. Work seamlessly with the I LOVE NY team to make sure all content and final cuts were compliant with their brand standards.

The Big Reveal

For the Hidden Gems Campaign, we shifted content from traditional animal showcases to experience-driven storytelling. Our focus centered on capturing the emotion, energy, and sense of discovery that define a visit to Animal Adventure Park. Through carefully composed visuals, we highlighted hands-on animal encounters, dynamic feeding moments, sweeping safari views, and genuine guest reactions. Every shot was designed to convey joy, wonder, and connection, positioning the parks not simply as attractions, but as memorable destination experiences.

The Results

Strong social performance doesn't always translate directly into real-world impact, but in this case, they certainly did. Animal Adventure Park & The Preserve achieved the highest monthly attendance in 13 years directly after the campaign ran in June 2025, which was quite a feat for an attraction that has received worldwide attention ever since the phenomenon that was April the Giraffe in 2017. The Hidden Gems Campaign successfully converted digital engagement into tangible visitation momentum, reinforcing the park’s positioning as a travel-worthy experience while expanding audience reach, discovery, and sustained interest.

Overall views reached 2.7 million across platforms through the Hidden Gems Campaign video. Distribution across both Animal Adventure’s social channels and I LOVE NY’s official Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts significantly amplified visibility.

Follower Growth

Following the campaign, Animal Adventure Park & The Preserve acquired 34,000 new followers across platforms. This surge in audience growth reflected the campaign’s ability to drive sustained discovery and interest beyond immediate viewership and expanded the park’s digital reach.
