School Anniversary Celebrations - Next week we will be celebrating the anniversary of education in Marchwiel with an open evening here at the school which you are all welcome to attend. We have various photographs, newspaper clippings and other memorabilia which will bring the memories flooding back. However, yesterday, Mrs. Arrowsmith's class were lucky enough to be able to visit the old school site which is based on the site of Scott's Furnishings. Mrs. Tennant accompanied them and was able to tell stories of what her education was like in that school building. We look forward to seeing you all next Wednesday after school!
UEFA/Disney Football Skills Day - On Wednesday girls from Years 1, 2 and 3 were lucky enough to attend a football skills day laid on by UEFA and Disney at Colliers Park. We were one of only a few schools selected to take part in this fun filled morning of trying new skills. The girls came back really excited and full of enthusiasm and with a brand new football and certificate each!
Diolch! - A big thank you must go to our wonderful group of helpers who form The Friends of Deiniol. They have very generously donated £1000 towards purchasing a brand new mobile kitchen area for all classes to use, £100 to each class and a large donation to the costs of the Year 6 leaver's hoodies and leaving party. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and also yourselves for supporting all of our events so generously.
United's New Signing - Manchester United clinched a new signing last weekend by snapping up exciting new prospect, Elliot from Dosbarth Celyn. The tricky striker has signed his first contract with the Red Devils under 9 team. Elliot, who has been playing since he was four years old, is looking forward to an exciting future with United.
Easyfundraising - When making purchases online please can you go through the 'easyfundraising' app as a small percentage of the transaction will be sent to the Friends of Deiniol. It doesn't cost you anything at all and most online retailers take part: Amazon, John Lewis, M&S, Tui etc. Just download the app, choose Friends of Deiniol School Yard and then use the app to choose an online store to buy from. It's really simple to use and easy money for the school!
Recycled Clothes - Please keep bagging up and sending in any unwanted clothes to the school. It's really easy money for the Friends of Deiniol which is then sent back into school to help our children.
