March 22, 2026

Due to school closures caused by the winter storm last month, Monday, March 23, 2026, will now be a regular instructional day for all students and staff at all campuses and departments. February 16, 2025 will remain a student/staff holiday as planned. This day was originally designated as a bad weather make-up day in our Board adopted calendar for the 2025-2026 school year. Every instructional day matters, and each one plays an important role in student learning and progress. After weather-related closures, it is important for us to thoughtfully restore as much classroom time as possible, so students remain on track academically. We understand calendar changes impact family schedules, and we do not make these decisions lightly. Our goal is to be proactive, transparent, and respectful by announcing this change more than six weeks in advance. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to support the academic growth of our students.

The Arlington ISD 2025-26 Parent Engagement and Satisfaction Survey link is now live, and we want to hear from you!   Let us know how to better serve your child by sharing your opinions on school safety, student well-being, campus communication, collaboration, academic partnerships, and more in our Arlington ISD Parent Survey.   Your responses help us make continued improvements on your child’s campus. Click this link to access the survey or complete the survey at stations set up on each campus during open house week. Campus open houses are: March 2 (high school), March 3 (junior high), and March 5 (elementary).   The survey is anonymous and closes on March 23, 2026.   Parent Survey

We are thrilled to share some incredible news about our Choir UIL performances this year! All four of our eligible choirs — Varsity Girls, Non-Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, and Non-Varsity Boys — earned straight Division I ratings and Sweepstakes at UIL. This is only the second time in history that Gunn Choir has taken four ensembles to compete at UIL, and it is the first time ever that all four groups received straight 1’s across the board. Our students have truly made history. These results are not accidental. They are the product of months of focused rehearsals, personal responsibility, musical growth, and a collective commitment to excellence. Our students chose to rise to a high standard every single day — even when it was difficult — and they represented our school with professionalism, confidence, and heart. Mr. Hendrickson is incredibly proud of the work they have done and the culture of excellence they continue to build within our choir program! Great job Choir!
The AISD Education Celebration on Friday, April 24 at Six Flags Over Texas. This special event is a long-standing partnership between Arlington ISD and the Arlington ISD Education Foundation and directly supports our teachers and students through AEF Educator Grants. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Foundation continues to fund innovative classroom grants across the district each year. During our 2025-26 grant cycle, we were able to fund nearly $250,000 in grants! Over 1,600 Arlington ISD fine arts students will perform throughout the park during this private event (with no lines!), creating an incredible showcase of student talent. In addition, $5 from every ticket sold goes directly back to the campus selected using your campus GIFT CODE. Tickets are available now at the discounted rate of $30 each and can be purchased here: https://www.arlingtonef.org/education-celebration . Tickets can also be used all day on April 24th, including normal operating hours (meaning these special ticketholders can enjoy the park from 11am-10pm!).
