A note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! Welcome back after half term - we hope that everyone had a great break. We'd like to find out more about whether we have a need for an after school child-care facility that would run a little like our breakfast club does. If you could spare a moment to fill in this google form, we'd be really grateful so that you can inform our plans. Thank you. The link is here.

A headsup that we have World Book Day coming up - we're going to celebrate this on the 8th March. We'd like to invite children to come to school dressed in pyjamas or comfy clothes so that there's no need to buy anything. If, however, your child has been waiting for the moment to wear their favourite costume, they will be really welcome to come dressed in that! We hope to enjoy the day, celebrating the love of reading, rather than worry how we look! Please see the following flyer for details of a book swap taking place on World Book Day:

Lucas from Rowling Class is fundraising for the charity Mencap. Lucas will be taking part in a sponsored walk in Rosehill Park and his sister will be taking part in the London Marathon. If you would like to sponsor them, you can do so by following the link or scanning the QR code.

Events this week
Unfortunately our football team suffered defeat this week in the Quarter Finals of the Totty Cup against Lacewood School. However the team will now be playing in the Gordon Swann Cup play-offs.
Online Safety

This week our Internet Safety Guide from the National College focusses on Online Dating and Relationships. Don't forget that you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.

Have a lovely weekend

Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.

At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
