Dear University Community,

As you now know, last Thursday evening our President, Dr. Pablo Arenaz, passed away unexpectedly. Just a few weeks ago, he celebrated his 74th birthday and was thrilled to be serenaded with "Las Mañanitas" by the students of our TAMIU Mariachi Internacional.

We are all grieving the loss of a cherished colleague and friend, leader and mentor, father and grandfather. His vision for this University, the communities we proudly serve, and his commitment to our students, faculty, and staff were boundless. His steady hand guided a shared vision that advanced this University measurably.

While we will all miss him terribly, we are committed to advancing his vision, securing his legacy, and making sure TAMIU will do what he always reminded each of us we could do... Go Beyond.

Please join us today at noon in front of the Acequia Fountain as we offer a Moment of Silence to honor his memory and service.
