Week 4 & 5

English - The children have been continued exploring the magical world of fairy tales in English! After examining a few classic examples together, we got creative and designed our own wanted posters. It was great to see the use of descriptive language and similes to bring their villains vividly to life – it was fantastic to see imagination and language skills come together so well. Going into week 2, we switched it up and became the villains from our fairy tales, trying to prove our innocence. The children were absolutely fantastic at getting into role! They role played as the wolf being interviewed by two detectives and came up with great arguments.

Maths - In maths, we have continued to work super hard on our division skills. We used the bus stop method to help us divide larger numbers. We have even started to work out division sums with remainders!

P.E - In P.E, we have been working in groups to come up with a dance routine. After rehearsing, we then performed these routines to the rest of the class. The children were so confident with this!

Science - In science, we have been learning all about forces and magnets. We looked at pull and push forces before coming up with examples. We then moved on to look at magnets. We learned that magnets can attract some metals like iron and steel, but not others. We also discovered how magnets have north and south poles and can push away or pull together depending on how they are placed.
