Our School Motto

Dear Parents/guardians,

It has been another busy week in school. Check out some of the beautiful work that pupils have produced.

Senior Prefects

Each year, pupils in year six apply for the position of senior prefects. Mr Smedley, a school governor, listened to all of the speeches to help select the candidates. This year, the process was incredibly difficult as the standard really was exceptional and there were so many pupils who would be excellent prefects. It takes a lot of bravery and courage to give a speech in front of your peers we were so proud of pupils who overcame their worries. All pupils who applied are going to receive a special present and we are going to ensure that all pupils are provided with a pupil voice leadership position.

A special well done to Blake and Ellie who are our head boy and head girl this year. They are excellent role models and I know they are going to lead pupils well.

Success @ Arithmetic Intervention

On Monday I spent the evening working with support staff at Johnston and Hook to train them in a new intervention called Success @ Arithmetic. The intervention supports pupils to improve their understanding of key concepts in maths and we are the only two schools in Wales licenced to work with Edge Hill University and use the program. If your child is going to be completing the intervention you will receive a letter to inform you.
