As a friendly reminder, the last day to register to vote in the March Presidential Primary Elections is Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Biannual Records Destruction
During the month of December 2023, the City Clerk’s office coordinated and facilitated a biannual records clean up giving City Departments an opportunity to review physical and electronic departmental records that were due for destruction in accordance with the City’s adopted Records Retention Schedule. The City Clerk’s office completed the destruction with the following items destroyed:
92 File Boxes housed at City Hall and GRM Storage facility
3,629 Electronic Files located on the City’s electronic server; and
(1) 64-Gal container of records at the Public Works Yard

The City of Pico Rivera held its very first City Council meeting on January 29, 1958 at 8:00 p.m. in the Junior High School Auditorium (currently known as Rivera Middle School). With the following first City Councilmembers

At this same meeting, the first nominations for Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore occurred; where Councilmember Orlyn Culp was nominated to the position of Mayor and John Davis was nominated to the position of Mayor Pro Tempore making them the first Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore of the City of Pico Rivera.

2024 California Contract Cities Sacramento Legislative Tour
The Pico Rivera City Council attended the California Contract Cities Association Sacramento Legislative Tour between January 8 and 10.
The Council joined fellow councilmembers from throughout Southern California to hear and meet with state legislators and advocate for the diverse and unique needs of their communities.

Developed using robust community feedback and input, a draft of our Multimodal plan for Whittier Boulevard will be available for public review and comment on February 5, 2024.
