TAHA’A

ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Papeete, Tahiti, Society Islands Embarkation

Day 1 – The islands of Polynesia are a gorgeous collection of volcanic atolls strewn across the grand Pacific Ocean, and the island of Tahiti is the largest of all 118. Explore the dynamic dining, nightlife, and shopping in the capital city of Papeete before embarking on The Gauguin.

Embark the m/s Paul Gauguin in Papeete, Tahiti. This bustling capital city is the perfect place to begin (and/or end) your South Pacific sojourn. The Gauguin waits patiently in the harbor - a vibrant and bustling market is across the street and in the evenings roulottes (food trucks) line the nearby square offering tasty local fare.

DAY 2 - Huahine, Society Islands

HUAHINE
HUAHINE

Don’t be fooled by the vibe of this laid-back, secluded island. With a bit of exploration, you’ll uncover some of the best-preserved archeological sites in French Polynesia. Underwater treasures await as well, with a snorkel excursion in the lagoon. Your first port of call, Huahine, is known as “The Garden Island” for its lush rainforests and dramatic terrain. While here, you can cruise the expansive lagoon, explore the island's culture, or picnic on the beach.

DAY 3 - Taha'a, Society Islands Arrival

MOTU MAHANA

Exciting options await on Motu Mahana, Paul Gauguin Cruises’ own private islet. Choose from swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, or simply lounging on the beach with a cold drink from our floating bar. There's a fabulous beach barbeque with locally caught fresh fish, meats and local dishes. Les Gauguines are also on hand to share musical entertainment and Polynesian crafts.

DAY 4 - Bora Bora, Society Islands

BORA BORA

Explore lush peaks, wander white-sand beaches, and marvel at the iconic views of Mount Otemanu. Take the plunge with a SCUBA excursion to see the island’s colorful coral reefs, enjoy a sunset jetboat ride, or spend a lazy afternoon on our private beach. Like a priceless Paul Gauguin painting come to life, storied Bora Bora is colorful and unforgettable. The landscape alone will have you searching for adequate adjectives, especially once you see the lagoon—“turquoise” just doesn’t do it justice.

BORA BORA

DAY 5 - Bora Bora, Society Islands Dep 5:00 pm

DAY 6 - Moorea, Society Islands

Vibrant colors abound during the leisurely days in Moorea, in everything from fresh fruits and flowers to multi-hued lagoons, and from spectacular mountain peaks to palm-fringed beaches. Shop for local handicrafts, embark on an optional dolphin-watching expedition with a marine biologist, and sample the local pineapples, said to be the most delicious in all of French Polynesia.

DAY 7 - Moorea, Society Islands Dep 5:00 pm

Explore colorful, bright and beautiful Moorea, which welcomes you with azure lagoons, impossibly fresh tropical fruits, stunning mountain peaks and palm-fringed beaches.. Maybe rent scooters and explore the island. Visit the Agriculture School to taste their famous jams, jellies and homemade ice cream and marvel at the views from the top of the mountain

DAY 8 - Papeete, Tahiti, Society Islands Arrival at 8:30 PM Overnight in port. Disembarkation

End your trip in Papeete. Tahiti’s capital city of Papeete welcomes you back with emerald hillsides, sapphire waters, and warm breezes. If you’re not ready for your South Pacific vacation to end, spend a few days here experiencing resorts, spas, restaurants, nightlife, and shopping. You can spend a few extra days here or even head back to Moorea, Bora Bora or visit one of the other islands.

Consider spending a few extra days on your favorite island by adding a hotel stay before or after your cruise. We will be offering SPECIAL RATES/PACKAGES - please ask for more information! You have to experience the OVERWATER BUNGALOWS!! Custom packages to Moorea, Tahiti or Bora Bora are available upon request for either before or after your island-hopping cruise.
