NJGF Newsletter April 2024

President's Message

Mike Attara, President, NJGF

With Scottie Scheffler capturing another green jacket, and Nelly Korda crushing it on the LPGA Tour with five consecutive victories, golf season is off and running! As the weather starts to change and golf facilities across the state are opening, the NJGF has an incredible line-up of programming and special events. On behalf of the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF) and our Board of Directors, welcome to the 2024 golf season.

Supporting Americas Heroes and helping them re-assimilate into their communities is always a priority. Headlined by programing at the Inspiration Golf Range, PGA HOPE is now available in all 15 counties that we service across the state. It’s truly rewarding that more Veterans will be positively impacted by golf programming this year, and we have more than 80 PGA Professional certified to teach. To further support PGA HOPE, The Hero Program, which you can read about in this issue, is a new initiative that will provide additional support to Veterans across the state.

Positively impacting lives and communities through the game of golf is our mission, and with a full slate of golf programs for youth, military Veterans and individuals with special needs on the calendar this year, we will continue to make a difference in so many lives. Youth Golf Day at the Inspiration Range was a terrific kick-off event, and we have so much more to come this season.

Please mark your calendars for the NJGF’s signature fundraising events: the Peter A. Famiano Memorial Pro-Am on June 13th at Trump National Bedminster and the NJGF Golf Classic on August 19th at Baltusrol Golf Club.

As always, we appreciate the commitment from our partners & donors, as your continued support allows us to make a more meaningful impact in communities across the state. If you are looking to get involved this year, please contact the NJGF’s Executive Director, Chris Hunt at chunt@pgahq.com or (732) 465-1212 and follow us on social media throughout the year.

Fit Fore Golf: Using TPI Techniques for Improved Golf Swing

The Fit Fore Golf program, led by a Titleist Performance Institute certified professional on staff with Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Rehabilitation, can provide a major advantage to help golfers fix their swing. The Fit Fore Golf team works with golfers to perform a comprehensive analysis to develop a plan to maximize their fitness and rehab experience and increase their swing capacity.

Working with a Titleist Performance Institute certified professional can provide a major advantage with fixing your golf swing.

Through Fit Fore Golf, staff utilize the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) approach. Our medical and fitness knowledge is used to develop a plan to maximize your fitness and rehab experience and increase your swing capacity.

Why You Need Fit Fore Golf?

Most of us sit all day at work or have previous injuries that limit our physical abilities. These physical limitations may be the cause of common swing characteristics that lead to less efficient golf swings.

What to Expect

You will start with a comprehensive evaluation, including a full 20 video swing analysis, followed by 16 golf specific fitness tests. We will then work together to develop a specific plan for your body and swing.

Why Work with a TPI professional?

  • The Titleist Performance Institute is the premier golf research lab and training facility
  • Eighteen of the last 20 major champions and 25 of the top 30 players in the world currently work with a TPI professional
  • Working with a TPI professional gives you access to the same fitness and medical methodology the pros use to get their bodies Fit Fore Golf

The Fit for Golf program is available at the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Rehabilitation at the JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ.
