  • October 25th - Grandparent's Day
  • October 28th-November 1st - Red Ribbon Week

Dear Bluejay Family,

Yesterday, we were blessed to celebrate Broussard CommUnity Day, a wonderful opportunity to share the mission and spirit of St. Cecilia with our local community. Through "The Pumpkin Parable," we reflected on how a pumpkin is cleaned and transformed to shine a light, symbolizing how God works in our hearts to purify and shape us so that we may reflect His love more brightly. It was a meaningful reminder of our call to live out our Catholic faith each day.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care and for your unwavering support in fostering a vibrant community of faith and learning at St. Cecilia. As we look ahead to the future, we are excited to announce that applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open next week on October 28th. Please help spread the word to family and friends who are considering Catholic education for their children. We look forward to welcoming new faces and hearts into our Bluejay family!

As we enter the second quarter of this school year, let us continue to serve one another in love, humility, and faith, just as Christ calls us to do.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Chapel & Library Repairs – In Progress!

You may have noticed on Wednesday October 16th that there was quite a buzz around the back door of the chapel! Repairs are underway there and in the front of our library. With a bit of help from this beautiful weather, the work should only take 7-10 days. You may have also noticed three new arched awnings, one over each window of the chapel. These serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose.

Demolition of the Music Building and Jefferson House – The Time is Near!

It’s official! On Monday, November 25th demolition begins on the Music Building and Jefferson House adjacent to the gym and playground. This process will continue through the Thanksgiving break. Dear Bluejay Family,

This past week saw our 5th Grade White play in the League Championship Game at St. Genevieve. The girls brought home the runner-up trophy, and we can not be prouder of those young ladies. Despite having a tough season, and having to battle in Division I against bigger schools, they brought everything together to make a great run in the tournament. They eliminated teams that they lost to during the regular season. We look forward to watching more volleyball from them in the future.

The football teams were in action on Wednesday night at Vermilion Catholic. Unfortunately, the 5/6th grade boys’ season came to an end. They have improved leaps and bounds from last year. The coaching staff is to be commended for how they handled the boys this year. The 7/8th grade boys notched another victory to remain undefeated on the season. This brings them to championship week. They will play St. Michael on Thursday, October 24th at Teurlings Catholic High School at 7:00 pm. Our big boys have played with such humility and professionalism all year. The coaching staff has managed expectations and execution with absolute perfection all year. Please come out to support our 7/8th grade football team on Thursday night as they look to go “back to back” and defend their title from last year.
