U14 Hockey - Kent Champions!

Congratulations to our U14 Hockey team, who were crowned Kent Champions after a superb day of competition at Sevenoaks. The girls showed incredible skill and teamwork, beating Duke of York (5–0), Ashford (3–0), TWGGS (1–0), TOGS (3–0), and Sevenoaks (4–0). They went on to defeat KC Canterbury 1–0 in the semi-final before sealing the title with a 4–0 win over TOGS in the final.

A fantastic achievement – and now it’s on to Regionals! Well done to the whole team and to Mr Beck for leading them to victory.

U15 Hockey - Triumph in ISHC Cup!

A massive well done to our U15s for their impressive 2-1 victory over Wimbledon High in the second round of the ISHC Cup. A hard-fought match and a well-deserved win – onwards to the next round!

Frantic Assembly Workshop

Year 8 thoroughly enjoyed an inspiring Frantic Assembly workshop led by Michelle Edwards. It was a fantastic opportunity to experience physical theatre training with a professional currently working in the industry. After her session with the students, Michelle returned to London to work with the actors rehearsing Hamlet at the National Theatre. What an incredible experience for our students!

Year 10 Geographers in the Field

On Thursday, Year 10 Geographers enjoyed a sunny field trip to Ashburnham Place to investigate its ancient woodland. Students explored the habitat, identifying a wide range of plant and animal species, and took part in stream dipping to assess the health of the local water. The rich biodiversity they discovered was a clear sign of a thriving, healthy ecosystem.

Science Club - Fire Writing Fun!

Last week, our Years 7–9 Science Club students experimented with the fascinating technique of fire-writing. With safety precautions in place, they explored the science behind combustion and chemical reactions, creating glowing words and shapes that lit up the room. A brilliant mix of fun and learning - well done to all who took part!

Boarders' Reflections - International Day of Peace

Pizza and Quiz Night in Tilley

On Thursday evening, Tilley came alive with our much-anticipated pizza and quiz night. This year’s Heads of Tilley organised the event, creating the quiz, borrowing a microphone and speaker, and ordering plenty of pizzas for everyone to enjoy. The theme taken up by some was pyjamas!

Year 10 Textiles

This week Year 10 have been studying the work of artist Rosie James, known for her illustrative stitch art. Inspired by her style, students selected images from magazines and experimented with free-motion stitching, layering, appliqué, and long draping threads to create striking textile pieces.

An Eye Opening Lesson

This week Year 11 have been studying how the brain and spinal cord control involuntary movements. As part of the topic, they also explored the structure of the eye and its many complex functions. There’s no better way to understand the eye than by dissecting an anatomical version — and luckily, they did this before lunch!

European Day of Languages

We marked the European Day of Languages with a morning full of fun activities. Students greeted us in different languages, tackled tongue twisters in German, Spanish, and French, and shared Spanish poems. Staff joined in too, with a video of their favourite foreign words, while Chaplain Katie led a prayer in French.

Also, don’t forget to enter the French Competition - check your inbox for Mrs Panconi’s email!
