We’ve come so far in the fight against HIV. We need to find the courage to finish the job.
The HIV prevention pipeline has never been stronger. Innovations like long-acting injectables, the dapivirine vaginal ring, and promising implants are radically transforming how we protect individuals and communities from HIV. Despite this progress, the Trump administration issued new guidance earlier this year threatening to undo hard-won gains by terminating HIV prevention programs essential to ending the epidemic as a global public health threat.
Bookmarked between two important days of recognition -- National Gay Men's HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (September 27) and International Day of the Girl Child (October 11) -- the Global AIDS Policy Partnership will be rolling out a campaign highlighting the importance of HIV prevention. Please join us by:
- Using the images and copy provided below on your individual and organizational social media platforms between 9/27 and 10/11. We have included two types of content: (1) seeks to increase awareness of their importance; and (2) amplifying past statements of support for HIV programs from members of Congress
- Sharing your own HIV-prevention focused content (lifting up individual stories, highlighting examples of success, etc.)
- Tagging @GAPPDC in your posts so we can amplify your messages
