Provider Training Toolkit on use of Long-acting Injectable Cabotegravir (CAB-LA) for HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)

Designed to help clinicians develop the knowledge and skills to provide CAB-LA as an additional HIV PrEP option.

Health Care Workers

Build your knowledge of CAB-LA for PrEP by completing the CAB-LA online course.

Work your way through a series of eLearning lessons, which will build your knowledge of CAB-LA and introduce you to a variety of resources and tools that you can use when engaging with your clients. After reviewing each applicable lesson, complete the knowledge check to evaluate your learning. You will be able to go back and review the lesson as many times as you like. Several lessons include downloadable tools which you can print out, or refer back to after you have completed the online course.

Implementing Partners and National PrEP Programs

Access resources to host an in-person CAB-LA training of health care workers with case-based scenarios and practice exercises.

Ministries of Health, PrEP implementing partners, and others may wish to hold in-person or virtual blended learning workshops for learners who have completed the online course. The blended-learning workshop will provide an opportunity for providers to engage with peers for additional case-based instruction and practice on incorporation of CAB-LA into PrEP services. Ministries of Health and PrEP implementing partners wishing to conduct classroom-based trainings can also access a full course PowerPoint for use in a traditional in-person training format. Access the Training Workshop Resources page for Implementation Guidance and to download the blended learning or classroom based training materials.
