A: A voice-over booth is a soundproofed room for recording voice-over work. It is quiet and controlled environment that students and faculty can use to record audio for projects such as podcasts, voice-overs for videos, and other audio-related assignments.

Q: Can I book the room for studying?

A: The voice-over booth is exclusively for audio recording purposes. We recommend you contact the library if you would like a quiet place to study.

A: The voice-over booth can be used for audio-related projects such as podcasts, voice-overs for videos, narrations, and other academic or research-related projects.

Q: Can I book the room for a personal project?

A: Currently, the voice-over booth is exclusively for MDC activities.

A: For now, the room is restricted to MDC students, faculty, and staff. We are working on extending the service to the community as well.

A: There are no fees to use the voice-over booth.

Q: Can I use my own equipment in the voice-over booth?

A: The voice-over booth has its own equipment. However, if you want to use your own, please contact the Immersive Labs manager at ocubasfa@mdc.edu beforehand.

Q: How many users can be in the space at the same time?

A: The rooms are technologically equipped to serve as many users as there are seats available. (ie: if the booth has two seats, only two users will be allowed at the same time).

Q: Are there any guidelines for using the voice-over booth?

A:No food or drinks of any type are allowed inside the booth. Any spill of liquids or food may result in damage to the equipment.

Q: Is there any technical support available for using the voice-over booth?

A: The Immersive Labs staff provides technical support. In fact, The voice-over booth can only be used under a technician's supervision.
