Zayaan: Fantastic demonstration of division by drawing pictures and using concrete materials.
Nickolas: Making great attempts to use Tier 2 and 3 vocabulary in his writing.
Tabetha: Amazing use of Tier 2 and 3 vocabulary when writing sizzling starts!
Chloe: Great demonstration of sharing between groups in Maths.

PSSA Tennis Competition

Our PSSA Tennis team has been working hard in preparation for their upcoming quarter-final match against Singleton Public School on 19th June. Students are looking forward to showcasing their skills and representing Mulbring Public School with pride. We wish the team the very best of luck — go Mulbring!

GRIP Leadership Day

Last week, we attended the Young Leaders event where we learned what makes a good leader, how to make our school a better place for everyone, and ways to involve our community in school life. We really enjoyed meeting other leaders from schools all around the Hunter region and hearing about the exciting ideas they are implementing back at their schools. Children's University

Students participating in Children’s University were excited to update their individual Learning Passports and share their valuable learning experiences outside of school. Recently, students enjoyed their first “Learning Lunch” with Jeff, our General Assistant, who generously gave his time to speak about his personal learning journey and the importance of goal setting. Students are also eagerly anticipating the next Learning Lunch session with Mr H. Information regarding our upcoming visit to the Newcastle University City Campus has now been shared via School Bytes, including the opportunity for parents and carers to join students on this exciting excursion on Wednesday, 24th June.

Top Blokes and Empowered Girls Programs

Stage 3 students continue to participate enthusiastically in the weekly Top Blokes and Empowered Girls programs. Through engaging activities and meaningful discussions, students have explored important topics including leadership, time management, and mental health awareness.

Sporting Schools Basketball Program

Students across the school are continuing to enjoy participating in the Sporting Schools Basketball Program. Throughout the program, students have been developing their basketball skills through a range of fun and engaging activities and games. This has provided excellent preparation for the upcoming Basketball Gala Day in Week 10.

Kurri Kurri High School – Year 6 Transition

A reminder that information has been sent home regarding the Year 6 Transition Program for students attending Kurri Kurri High School in 2027. Please ensure you have filled in your applicatoin form online for Kurri Kurri High School so your student is able to attend this transition. Students are excited to visit the school, meet teachers, and begin building connections with future classmates as part of the transition process. Applications for the Year 7 Enrichment Class also open on Monday, 25th May. This program provides students with a valuable opportunity to extend and challenge their learning.

Small Schools Athletics Carnival

We are looking forward to our whole school participating in the small schools athletics carnival on 12th June 2026.

State Basketball Championships

A huge congratulations to Eleanor V, who recently represented the Hunter region at the State Basketball Championships in Port Macquarie. Eleanor’s team achieved a number of impressive wins throughout the competition, with Eleanor consistently playing a standout role and making a wonderful contribution to both team spirit and overall performance. Well done, Eleanor — we are incredibly proud of your achievements!

PSSA Soccer Trials

Congratulations to Clay and Kirkton for proudly representing Mulbring Public School at the recent PSSA Soccer Goalkeeping Trials. Both students demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the trials. A special congratulations to Clay, who was selected in the Cessnock Zone team as goalkeeper and will now progress to compete at the Hunter Regional level. We wish him all the best in the next stage of competition.

Canberra Excursion 5/6

We're getting excited—the Canberra trip is fast approaching! Thank you to all parents who have been making payments and supporting this fantastic opportunity for our students. Please continue to make payments to ensure final payments are made on time. We can’t wait for an unforgettable experience in our nation’s capital!

Year 6 Fundraising

Each Friday at recess, Year 6 students will continue to sell ice blocks for $1 and will also be selling Freddo Frogs 2 for $1. Thank you to everyone for your continued support in helping to raise funds for end-of-year celebrations.
