Cross Country Team

The year the cross country team has had mixed results over the last two meets. The top runner Eli scoring first in the rankings, both at Meadowbrook and Nobles! “The cross country team is a good way to get some miles in.” said Henry. Middle school cross country is a good way to get in an exercise, whether you will run in the high school, or you are looking to have fun. From stretching as a team outside of the NAC, to crossing the finish line at Nobles. BB&N Middle School cross country is a sport that everyone can enjoy.

Boys Gold Team Soccer

Record: 4-4-1

The Boys Gold team got off to an unfortunate start - losing not one, not two, but four games in a row before ending that streak at the Rivers School. A couple days later, The Gold Team tied with Fenn School. This result caused some unhappy reactions like hopelessness, sadness, and disappointment. After a week and a half later, the boys traveled to Roxbury Latin School and gained their second win and got revenge on RL. They scored two goals in the first 10 minutes and then again after another 15 minutes. Then, in the second half, the team scored again before letting in one goal from a corner kick. After four games without losing, the gold team started getting more and more confident in themselves. With a good mindset, they succeed to score a goal as a 1 on 1 with the goalie in the first half. This still didn’t satisfy the coach and reminded that team to stay in their position. In the second half, BB&N scored an amazing header before letting in a goal in the last 15 minutes. The BB&N goalie then saved a penalty kick. BB&N managed to maintain the lead until the end of the game. The Gold team traveled to St. Sebastians only to flatten them very quickly. This was the first game of the season where a defender scored! Now, this is a crucial time for the gold team to lock in - they have now gotten a tied record for their hard work. They have a chance on Monday to get a winning record after their disastrous first four games of the season.

Boys Blue Team Soccer

Record: 2-4-1

The Boys Blue team probably had the easiest win this season throughout all of the athletics - winning by a forfeit. But, a win is a win. Then, about a week later, they played Fessenden at Friday Knight Lights, letting in 4 goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. Then letting in one more goal in the second half. They then played Austin Prep where they tied, great improvement from last year’s loss! Roxbury Latin School was still a bit disappointing, but that’s okay because they then went on to get another win against Nobles. An okay season for the B team this year with one game left!

Girls Gold Team Soccer

Record: 5-1-2

The Girls Gold Team started the season amazingly, barely losing any games. First ending their winning streak by tying Dexter Southfield in the pouring rain, and then losing to Rivers School which is considered as their first loss. Then, they tied a high scoring game against Nobles, tying 4-4. Then, they absolutely shut out Austin Prep, winning 9-0. That’s pretty much a goal every 7 minutes! The gold team then replayed Winsor School. They had taken down Winsor 5-1 last time. This time, it was a win by much more. What a great season for the girls! Only one loss with one game to go!

Girls Blue Team Soccer

Record: 4-2

The Girls Blue Team got off to a pretty good start, only letting in 2 goals while scoring 7 goals in 2 games. The team then went on to being flattened by Newton Country Day School, and then losing to LCA. The girls must have been determined after that, winning twice in a row against Winsor. Great season!

Flag Football Team

Record: 7-1

This was a great season for Flag Football. First getting revenge on Milton Academy, which they lost to two times last year, and then revenge on Roxbury Latin, which was the biggest loss last year. Luckily, they pulled it off this year with a last minute touchdown to win the game. This is probably one of the best seasons this team has had in a long time - not losing a single game at all this season. There were some close games, but still a great season so far. Wow close game! 2 points! This is the football team’s first loss of the season with only two games to go. Unfortunately, the blue team could not succeed in a last minute touchdown, which resulted in a 2 point loss. Fortunately, they went on to destroy the Park School with one game to go.

Field Hockey Team

Record: 3-5-2

The Field Hockey Team is built of a group of hard working kids. They are off to an even-ish record. Pari said, “Field hockey is fun and requires speed and hand-eye-coordination. The kids are really nice and it is a supportive environment” The BB&N field team is a sport that when you know how to play it can be very fun.

Gold Volleyball Team

Record: 4-3

Blue Volleyball Team

Record: 1-6

The volleyball teams are working hard this year to improve their skills on and off the court. Although they work hard three days of the week, they are off to an unfortunate start. They lost not one, but two games and then went on to lose again after their win against Newton Country Day School. Whether it is on the court or in a game they are working hard with their mind set on getting better.
