SCM SOLUTIONS Let's find your north together !

Hello, my name is Sébastian and I'm a freelancer in projects' management & related needs.

My motto: don't face your projects alone: work as a team!

My favorite quote right now is from Taiichi Ohno:

When the problem is well understood, improvement becomes possible.

My favorite type of project? R&D projects.

My current role? I'm often referred to as a "bottleneck killer," but what does that mean? What's that? 🤷‍

Let's take an example: if my client wants to take on a challenge on a new "playing field": I will clear the way; and scrutinize the project's supply chain in search of thorny points, loss of momentum, or distortions that could unbalance it. I must smooth out all rough edges so that the project runs as smoothly as possible; only the intrinsic hazards will remain. After analyzing the issues or problems identified: I propose solutions; subsequently, I will implement those chosen by my client.

My second job is often to provide a supply chain solution to a given problem. This is by no means the easiest scenario to execute; however, it's the one that presents me with the most challenges!

On a more personal level, I am interested in renewable energies; I practice ashtanga & flow yoga, fencing and horse riding.

As an experienced manager in supply chain operations and project management, I have 24 years of experience in major industrial and service sectors. I spent many years in international companies managing all or part of their supply chains.

My favorite tools are: project mode, expert meetings, Kaizen workshops, VSM, a little bit of Lean or Six Sigma, depending on the needs of the given case and/or the teams in place; I often add a TOC approach with a pinch of ecology!

Generally speaking, I no longer call myself responsible for this or that: but rather as a "project manager".

In fact, whatever happens, I will ultimately manage: an industrial project, a supply chain project, project-based purchasing, a continuous improvement project, contract management for one or more projects, etc. I even hesitate to replace “projects” with “challenges”. 😉

I work mainly internationally, although some projects remain local.

For years, I have been learning from challenges I have faced, in all kinds of situations; I have met peers, new teams, different cultures, I have unexpected experiences, and above all challenges, challenges, challenges!

My colleagues describe me as dynamic, optimistic, and someone who follows through on things. But the best thing would be to ask them directly. 😉

Now, if you work for a committed structure (ethically, preferably 😉), facing a mountain of challenges to overcome with complex & exciting projects to carry out => then let's talk about it!

Or, if you are a small structure that only needs a few hours per week/day on a specific subject, due to lack of time or specific skills: such as managing your calls for tender, managing your purchases, sourcing suppliers for a new product, your procurement, a risk analysis, a new project perhaps!?! => then let's talk about it!

Anyway, let's talk about it! 😉
