Give Back Day 2025: Serving Our Community with Heart and Purpose
On Give Back Day 2025, AMS IV students and staff stepped out of the building and into the community to serve in meaningful, hands-on ways. Across all grade levels, advisories partnered with local organizations, first responders, and neighborhood spaces to give back through action, creativity, and care.
From park cleanups to donation drop-offs, from handwritten holiday cards to face-to-face thank-yous, students spent the day showing what it means to serve with intention.
What Students Did
Throughout the day, advisories participated in a variety of service projects, including:
- Cleaning and restoring Baisley Pond Park and other local park areas
- Collecting and delivering food, toys, and donated goods to community organizations
- Visiting local firehouses and police precincts, sharing handmade cards and words of appreciation
- Creating holiday care packages, baked goods, and greeting cards to spread encouragement
- Working on creative service projects, including gingerbread house building and card writing with D75 students
- Visiting and giving gift bags as a thank you at Riverton Charter Middleschool
Each activity gave students the opportunity to work together, take responsibility, and see the impact of their efforts firsthand.
More Than a Service Day
Give Back Day was also a learning experience. Students practiced teamwork, leadership, and communication while engaging with people and places in their own community. Whether walking to a nearby firehouse, boarding a bus to deliver donations, or spending the morning cleaning a park, students gained a deeper understanding of service beyond the classroom.
Thank You
This day would not have been possible without the coordination and support of our advisors, staff, operations team, and school leadership, who helped plan transportation, supplies, and logistics. We are also grateful to the community partners, churches, first responders, and organizations who welcomed our students and allowed them to serve alongside them. Most of all, thank you to our students, whose effort, respect, and willingness to give their time made Give Back Day 2025 a success.
Moving Forward
Give Back Day is a reminder that service doesn’t stop after one day. The lessons learned—empathy, responsibility, and community awareness—are ones we carry back into our classrooms and beyond.
