From my first project, this is one of the first photos I took of a flower bouquet I was making with my friends. From this, I learned how to bring out vibrant colors without making the photo too bright with the burn and dodge tools. My goal was to take a pretty picture that made you want to see flowers. I am happy with this photo as I think it was the best of the few I took for my first project. I hope other people see the bright colors and feel positive emotions.
I took this picture of a friend's car in my driveway because I liked the way the color looked in the sun. I learned how to make deeper shadows using different adjustments and tools in Photoshop. My goal was to simply take a cool picture of a cool car. My goal was to bring out the colors and deepen the shadows of the picture. I feel like I did a good job with this photo for it being in my first project. I hope others enjoy the deep blue on the car.
With this project, we were told to try out and experiment with different filters and settings that our camera provided. In the original photo I took the color was much more yellow and bright than it already is currently. My goal was to adjust the colors with the adjustment layers in Photoshop and to make the picture darker overall. I learned how to use the color balancing and hue features really well in this project. I hope the audience gets a sense of old vintage when they see this photo.
After procrastinating taking my texture photos for too long I ended up scrambling to find anything to snag a photo of, while doing that I threw some yarn on a desk and it ended up making a heart. I added a few more props and took this photo. In the original photo, it was far too yellow and bright because of the overhead light reflecting on the yellow wood desk so I had to do my best to fix that. I think that this photo is good because it was pretty much a complete accident. I hope that the audience sees this and enjoys its simplicity.
This picture was kind of a throwaway at first because the shadows would violently change the colors with any edit I made to it because of the low quality. But this photo helped me learn how to get past that and change up my editing with more color balance and light settings. The goal was to just take a picture of the wood lamp texture. I feel like this photo should have been much worse, so I'm happy with how it turned out. I hope the audience enjoys it.
I was trying to implement the rule of thirds into this picture with the guitar. When I took this photo into editing, I realized that it would look really good if I just made the background black and created a real focus on the guitar. In this project, I learned how to control the shadows well. This is one of the best photos I have taken this semester. I hope that the audience will appreciate the texture of the guitar close-up.
When I was assigned this project I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for a theme, in the end, I procrastinated again and had to rush to quickly take my pictures. I chose my fake plants above my bed intending to take two very similar photos and then another of a little less similarity to put in the center. For some reason, I was having trouble with my camera and every photo I took had issues with the color or it was blurry. I had to overcome the color challenges in photoshop and i am happy with how it turned out. I hope the people viewing this project get a calm sense because of the plants.
When taking the photos for the reflection project, I went to a small pond near my home that had good scenery. I chose to take pictures in a spot that would have a lot of different things reflecting in the water like the tree and the house. I chose this photo for the duotone because I thought the water and the sky would make a nice contrast. I really like the colors in this photo and i hope others do as well.
In this photo it's at the same pond that I took the duotone and the next photo at. the goal was to hand-color all of the black and white and I think I did okay everywhere except the middle part because I was having trouble with the select tools. other than that I like the colors that I chose and I hope others do as well.
I like this photo because it has a focus on the water but you can still see where the reflection comes from. I like the detail in this one. The goal was of course to focus on the water while still having a good photo. I think I succeeded and I learned how to take better photos. i hope others like the focus on the water like I do
For my surreal project, I had the thought of a maintenance man lighting the candles that float in the Harry Potter Movies/Books. I used many different photos including a background, me on a ladder, and several candles lit and unlit. In this project I learned how to color match. I hope others think that this photo is funny like I do.
In this collage, different pictures of water and oil have a lit-up background behind them. These photos were specifically chosen because I think they came out the best after taking them and editing them. I enjoyed the creativity of taking these photos. I hope others like the abstractness of the oil photos.
These photos are my small masterpieces of oil and water. I love the colors and the vibrance of them and how they all match with the bubbles and color. I learned how to mess with the hue and color balance settings in this project as well as the light and brightness. I hope others like the colors and vibrance like I do.
