This project was created using mixed media to have a 3D feel, with the jester looking like she is popping out of the card, for this piece. I again had to mess around a lot with color and learn about things that are harmonious and what makes certain things contrast. The goal of this project for me was to replicate the effect that I wanted: the jester popping out of the card. This piece was very difficult to work with foam core and cut it to fit the curves of each element. I want my audience to recognize the different effects and elements that I implemented into it.
For this project, I printed my watercolor design onto a dictionary page with the word “bubble” to reference the bubbles within my piece. I had to learn a lot about colors and saturation for it to appear how I wanted it to on paper. My overall goal for this project was to create something vibrant and fun. I like this piece a lot, I struggled a little bit to decide what to do in the planning process, but I feel that it was worth it and came out nice. I hope that an audience can appreciate the coloring and my general choice of artistry.
The final project I made was created using mixed media to paint on patterns, cut out pieces, and combine everything. For this, I had to learn and utilize a lot of visualization since I made the drawing pieces first and then mixed in a bunch of other elements. My goal was to just stick out the process so that I could get to the final product. I appreciate this piece it took some time, and I got to use it as a creative outlet for my other artistic abilities. I hope that my audience will see this piece and interpret the meanings and symbols within the piece.
In this project, I created a sunset scene and highlighted specific portions of the piece with metal. Learning to apply the metal to my piece was a huge portion of the project. My goal was to explore my abilities with rendering, sketching, etc. I feel that this piece is very interesting; not sure how I feel, it's not a favorite of mine but I still am proud of it. My intent for audiences is to be drawn toward the mental aspects of the piece.
