Climate-responsive Enterprises: Yash Entrepreneurs Program

USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership: India-Yash project is working with climate- responsive enterprises to revolutionize how youth and adolescents access sustainable menstrual hygiene products and services.

The MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership India-Yash project is led by Jhpiego, a Johns Hopkins University affiliate and partners. Its Yash Entrepreneurs Program is implemented in partnership with Villgro.

The Yash Entrepreneurs Program supports enterprises across India to invest in solutions to revolutionize how youth and adolescents access quality family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH) services.

Modern sanitation choices for women must be safer and recyclable. That’s the mission of Padcare Labs. They’ve developed the world’s first Menstrual Hygiene as a Service business model. Now, they’re making pads more available in office spaces, with a special focus on recycling options, inclusiveness, equality, and healthier public hygiene practices.

Sustainable menstruation, Boondh reaches rural India through community interventions and collaborations, offering the Boondh cup—a simple and sturdy menstrual cup for menstruating individuals. They have established a strong brand in urban areas and now prioritize sales to beneficiaries in tier 3 and below.

Avni offers washable cloth pads made from 100% certified organic cotton, featuring an antimicrobial layer for infection prevention. These pads are safe, rash-free, and chemical-free, with a unique design for improved functionality
