The Link
The Link is the Integrated Services newsletter for families that comes out on the 3rd Thursday of each month (fingers crossed). It is a way for us to share information, upcoming events and activities, and resources. Barb Moreng, Parent Liaison, is the editor. If you have feedback, please email Barb at bamoreng@psdschools.org or complete the "Parent Feedback Form" below. If you would like to catch up on previous issues, you can find them on the Integrated Services page of the PSD website linked below:
Director's Corner
Dr. Jodie Rommel, Director of Integrated Services
Dear Families, At this time of year, we find ourselves reflecting on 2025 and all the remarkable growth we've observed in our students. Let's be sure to celebrate all of their accomplishments! Please know that we couldn't do this work without you! You are your child's first teacher, advocate, and biggest cheerleader. Thank you for entrusting us with your children and for your vital partnership. Wishing you a restorative winter break filled with peace, love, and laughter. Jodie
SEAC Update
The Special Education Advisory Committee is made up of parents, community partners, and PSD staff. The purpose of SEAC is to represent students with disabilities and advise the Special Education Leadership Team on their behalf. There is no SEAC meeting in December.
Program evaluation 2025-26
Every year the PSD Integrated Services Department conducts an evaluation of one of our programs. These evaluations help us know areas in which we are doing well, and areas in which we need to improve our programing. This year we are conducting an evaluation of the Integrated Learning Support (ILS) Program. If you have a child in an ILS program in a PSD school, we would love to hear your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. Please complete the ILS Parent Survey 2025-26. Also, we are holding two live virtual feedback sessions for families to provide additional input and discussion. These sessions will be held on January 14, 2026 from 8:30-9:30am and January 16, 2026 from 12:00-1:00pm. You will receive an email with these meeting links. Please email Nora Love at nlove@psdschools.org if you have any questions. Thank you!
Inclusion
Thanks to the schools that participated in Inclusion Week (November 17-21) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The photos below are from Eyestone and Lopez!
The CSU Men's Basketball Team celebrated inclusion at their game on 12/14/25. Timnath Middle/High student Stella Keaton sang the national anthem - acapella - and crushed it!
Medicaid outreach and enrollment program
The Outreach and Enrollment Program helps PSD families navigate the Health First Colorado (Medicaid) application process. Even if you are over the Medicaid income limits, your child may qualify for Medicaid benefits under a disability determination application. Hazel Morales is the PSD Outreach and Enrollment Specialist and she can help you fill out the Medicaid Disability Determination, sometimes known as the ARBOR application. Medicaid can be a secondary insurance provider even if your student has private health insurance. To learn more, please click the button below. To get help, please complete this form and Hazel will be in touch with you!
Resource
Sometimes holiday celebrations, family gatherings, and school breaks can be overwhelming for kids. The Child Mind Institute has put together some tips for making holiday celebrations kid-friendly. Check it out!

The Transition Pathways Academy team had a successful Maker's Market this month selling everything from dog biscuits to coffee to soup mixes in a jar! Additionally, 6 students were recognized during the "Send Off Celebration" on December 11th. We wish these students well as they enter adulthood!
