ABOUT NAKISA GLOVER
Nakisa Glover is a multi-hyphenate climate and environmental justice practitioner, tech advocate, cultural consultant, thought leader, and community engagement expert. She develops strategies across activism, films, music, and podcasts that engage millennials, Gen Z, artists, entertainers, community leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians, and other stakeholders to create more equitable, sustainable, and regenerative communities.
Nakisa has built a local to national track record as a community organizer with years of experience in corporate, community and service-based roles. A trailblazing climate and environmental justice practitioner, Nakisa founded Indy Group Services, to deliver consultant services to local and national partners, including organizations, colleges and universities, government agencies and community groups. She is the Founder of Sol Nation, a Charlotte-based nonprofit that advocates for real solutions for the Charlotte community, and serves in several leadership roles to advance equity and wellness for the community that nurtured her own well-being. These roles include former Regional Partnership Coordinator of Girls Who Code, where she closes gender and diversity gaps in technology; former Think 100% Organizer for Hip Hop Caucus, where she highlights solutions to climate change and environmental injustices to help make Think 100% The Coolest place in the climate movement.
In addition to her consulting work, Nakisa advocates and leads wellness for impacted communities through various roles, including Coach for Black Women’s Health Imperative: Change Your Lifestyle, Change Your Life, Fellowship for Liberated Futures participant, Rural Beacon Initiative, The Capacity Collaborative, Founding Member of the North Carolina Black and Green Network, Community Engagement Committee Chair of UNC Charlotte Black Alumni Chapter, MIXXEDFIT Certified Trainer, Xtreme Hip Hop Step Certified Trainer and more.
As a Black thought leader with expertise in climate justice, Nakisa has shared knowledge with media outlets, including Media Matters, Yes Magazine, HuffPost, Creative Loafing, Gizmodo, WBTV, Atmos, Lillian’s List, and Earth Gen. She has shared her knowledge as a featured speaker for several conferences, including the Black Women’s Health Imperative, DC Environmental Film Festival, Smithsonian Anacostia, US Climate Action Network, National Environmental Justice Conference, National Adaptation Forum, and the National Conference on Equitable Development.
