CTE Newsletter February Recap

CTSO Recap given by CTSO Officer Joel Zazueta

In the month of February CTSO took on two major projects. One of them being an event called Evening with Industry, which gave CTE students the opportunity to network with people in their chosen fields. The students learned how to carry themselves with a pitch. While the Evening with Industry was in full swing CTSO also started production on a video projected called Titan 2 Titan. This project is an assortment o interview done to Tahquitz Seniors reflecting on their High School experiences and advice to underclassman. Even though the month of February is short CTSO was busy improving and growing as a club.

Sports Medicine

Level 1's have been working on the respiratory system learning the important role the lungs play for our bodies. They have created 3 models of the respiratory system and have done labs checking each other's lung capacity.

Level 2's had the opportunity to cover the shoulder joint. Going over evaluation and treatment techniques commonly used to treat those specific injuries related to the shoulder joint.

Entrepreneurship

Year 1's are continuing to work on the various sections of the business plan to complete the business plan project.

Year 2's worked on our T-shirt project where students designed a T-Shirt and then printed their shirt by walking through the 5 step printing process. In addition they had finished off the remainder of the project by creating a marketing plan to identify target markets, trends, and how they will sell the shirts. Then they created an advertising flyer with an active QR code which was linked to an order form they created. They wrapped up the project by completing the financials relating to making, marketing and selling their shirts.

Digital Media

Digital Media students have finished their first module in EditMentor, a training platform to teach students the basics of editing. Many students were able to achieve this certificate of completion in the basics of filmmaking. Students were also able to take the knowledge learned in class and see it in action by visiting Universal Studios Hollywood. Students also completed work-based learning projects in conjunction with baseball and softball to generate images at a media day.
