Exploring cyber security play pack for early level learners.

Before exploring the pack, please first introduce children to The Bongles and The Crafty Crows story.

Then invite children to explore the contents of the play pack, observing what objects they can identify or recognise and encourage them to talk about and test out their uses.

The pack includes items that can be used to search and look for passcodes, passwords and a variety of physical security mechanisms in our setting and local environment.

Inside the pack you will also discover a range of objects that can be used to generate passcodes and passwords of your own.

Combine three random words to create a password that’s ‘long enough and strong enough’.

Weak passwords can be cracked in seconds. The longer and more unusual your password is, the harder it is for a cyber criminal to crack.

A good way to make your password difficult to crack is by combining three random words to create a password (for example applenemobiro).

You can also use the empty pack as a 'feely bag'. Invite children to gather and fill the bag with random objects from around the setting and then take turns to select three items (no peeking) from the bag. Ask children to identify their three objects by name, generating their own three random word password.

You can then compare the strength of each password by helping children to type their three random words. The bigger the number, the stronger the password!

Feel free to add notes here as you go, about how children are responding to the pack and also your comments on the effectiveness of the contents.
