Cultivating Parent Engagement

As we continue to strive for excellence at SHS, we are committed to ensuring that we meet the needs of our students and families. To help us better understand and address these needs, we kindly ask you to take a few minutes to complete our School Counseling Parent Needs Assessment survey (click the button below). Your feedback is invaluable in guiding our efforts and will play a critical role in shaping the support we provide. The survey is brief and will take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Important Dates

The Homecoming Dance has been updated to start at 7pm - 11pm.

10/1--- Blood Drive at Sinton PD

11/1 --- ASVAB Testing for Grades 10-12 from 8:30am - 12 noon; The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test is an important tool that helps students explore a wide range of career options, both in the military and civilian sectors. It provides valuable insights into their skills and interests, guiding them towards potential career paths that align with their strengths. Even if your child does not plan to pursue a military career, the ASVAB offers critical information for career planning and decision-making. We highly encourage all eligible students of grades 10-12 to take advantage of this opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of their future possibilities.

INFORMATION FROM THE SHS OFFICES OF ACADEMICS

Spring Dual Credit Registration is in November--don't miss out, this is free college hours! All new students who want to register for Dual Credit must sign up and pass the TSI test.

SHS Instructional Program progress. The graphic above highlights the 9 essential instructional elements that administrators focus on during classroom observations and learning walks. This data-driven approach helps us identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement across our classrooms, ensuring the quality of education your child receives.
Our journey! Reaching for the Campus Rating of an "A"! Our beginning of the year MAP testing shows an improvement from last year's BOY scores with the exception of the Masters levels in English I and Algebra I.

As we continue to strive for academic excellence, we kindly ask for your support in encouraging your child to do their best on the upcoming MAP testing days. Regular school attendance is essential in helping them prepare for not only their content exams but also MAP and EOC tests. Your involvement and encouragement play a key role in your child's success, and together, we can ensure they are well-prepared for the road ahead.

College Ready

Students in grades 9-12 will soon receive or have access to these CCMR tracking cards in Skyward. The scores shown on these cards are very important as they show whether the student met criteria in TSIA, ACT/SAT, AP, and Dual Credit. In general, the more "Y"s (meaning 'yes') in each component met, means the student is college, career, military ready (CCMR). The top right green corner will show a "Y" for meeting CCMR overall; which, in this case, would qualify the student for an 'off-period' as a junior and/or senior.

12th Graders:
