Central Park in Bloom Conservatory Gardens

Meet at entrance to Untermyer Fountain ( By Park Entrance of 106th and 5th ave. )

Closest subway is Central Park North 110st ( 2 or 3 Line) with a 10min walk

Photo Walk Details:

We will be capturing the gorgeous gardens in full bloom. There are tons of flowers and a nearby lake for reflections. The birds are migrating through the park so we may catch some birds swooping in for breakfast. Our locations are close to each other.

We will studying how light defines our subjects and will practice shooting in the hard day light, backlight and the effects of soft light in the shadows. We will work on compositional elements symmetry, leading lines and patterns.

Gear Recommendations:

  • Camera: Digital, mirrorless or smart phone are welcomed.
  • Lenses- Wide, Medium, Macro and even Telephoto if you want to capture the birds.
  • Travel Tripod is good if you want to try focus stacking
  • ND filter if you want to blur lake water

Additional suggestions:

  • Water Mister for spraying the plants
  • White piece of cardboard to bounce light on your subject.
  • Snacks and Water
  • Sunscreen and a hat
