26-27 Beginning Band Instrument Selection (ALL)

If you have any 5th grade neighbors, friends or family members asking how to choose an instrument for beginner band next year, forward them to our band website www.rogersband.com.   We will be doing instrument selection for both Rogers and Bridges middle schools. All students need to do is sign up for band in skyward for course selection by 2/19 and we will reach out to families on how to do the instrument selection. Instrument selection for those students will be in April.   New for next year, we will have 7th and 8th grade beginners. If you know of any student who missed the opportunity to join band in 6th grade this is a GREAT time to join. Tell your friends!!

Rogers and Bridges incoming 7th/8th Grade course selection

Course selection for next years Rogers and Bridges middle schools will close on February 19th. When searching for band in skyward, just type in “ba” and all band class should show up.

• 7th/8th Grade Band - Select “concert band” and we will separate students into the correct band class for next year. (Does not conflict with sports or any other classes)
• Jazz band will only show up for 8th graders, but 7th graders who are interested can ask a band director for details.
• Beg Band – great opportunity for students who did not select band in 6th grade but want to learn an instrument.
• Conflicts – Please ask a band director if you have any questions about conflicts. We have been at Rogers for over 10 years and have seen many creative ways to avoid schedule conflicts.

Pre-UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Concert (WE, SB, CB)

All of the Concert Bands (Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band) have been working hard on their competition pieces since January. As we come closer to our competition season, we would like to invite all of the friends and family of the program to our Pre-UIL concert performances in the Walnut Grove High School Auditorium. Attendees are welcome to watch the on-stage performance and watch the sight-reading process. Pre-UIL Performance times (Updated as of 2/14/26)  

• Wednesday February 25
• 6:45pm – Wind Ensemble
• 7:15pm – Concert Band
• 7:35pm – Symphonic Band

TCU Jazz Festival (Jazz Band)

The Rogers Jazz band will be performing at the TCU Jazz Festival on Saturday February 28th. We are excited to perform in the Pepsi Co recital hall on the TCU Campus at 10:00am. Details for the Day
