iPhone ProMax : Natural Window Light f1.78 ISO80 38mm 1/333s

During our field trip to a wine tasting in Gilroy, I captured a natural window light photo of my coworker. The soft, natural light streaming through the window beautifully illuminated their features, adding depth and warmth to the composition. It was a great opportunity to practice using natural light in portrait photography.

iPhone 15 ProMax-adjustment made in LrApp f1.8 ISO 50 24mm1/50s

I took this photo in a dark room using flash and added artificial light for better illumination. I further enhanced it using Lightroom, adjusting the settings to achieve the desired effect. I set the exposure to -18, contrast to +11, highlights to +5, shadows to +5, whites to +15, blacks to -5, tint to +30, and temperature to 6250K. iPhone 15 ProMax - Fill Flash Adjusting to Black and white f1.78 24mm ISO 50 1/50s

This photo was taken in a dark room using flash and additional artificial light. I incorporated fill flash and converted the image to black and white to enhance contrast and highlight tonal details. In Lightroom, I refined the image further by adjusting the exposure to -27, contrast to +7, temperature to 5001K, and tint to +10. These adjustments helped achieve a polished and visually striking result.

Reflection

I am happy with my final photography project. Working on this photography project was enjoyable and rewarding. I can able to take some of the beautiful moments while going to wine tasting trolley with my coworker. I am really enjoying it I can able to contribute photo taking in the field trip. I took the natural light from window; in the previous assignment I did not grasp the concept that's cause me did not receive full credit. In this final project assignment, I can able to correct my errors and which gave me a chance to reflect on everything I learned in this course, like photography basics, exposure, and light, portrait, narrow depth of field. It also helped me take the best photos I could, edit them well, and carefully organize my photo.

I am taking blurred movement is challenging. Editing the photo was really challenging, making adjustment in the lightroom application foreground, middle ground and background is challenging. but I learned new skills during this final project. It was a wonderful experience to improve my photography and editing techniques.

Black-and-white photography allowed me to focus on the interplay of highlights and shadows without the complexity of color grading, enhancing the visual impact of the composition. My biggest challenge was completing 10 photos for my final project. I chose to convert some of the photos to black and white because I wanted to emphasize the tonal contrast between darkness and light, especially in night scenes. After completing the night photography assignment, I started working on my final project. It feels like a better fit for me and is much more enjoyable to practice. Exploring the town and nearby areas to find the perfect spots to photograph makes me excited.

My biggest challenge was deciding what kind of photo I should use for my final exam, and it is difficult for me to choose that I wanted it to express and, I wanted to comply with the instruction. Overall, I achieved the style I aimed for at the start of the project. I’m happy with the result and believe it’s the best photography work I’ve done this quarter. This final project was so much fun to work on! I’m glad I had the chance to create photos I’m proud of. I’m excited to use the skills and knowledge I’ve gained from this course in my future photography projects and continue improving my work.
