Dear Wildcat Fans,

Starting with the 2023-24 men’s basketball season, priority sections in the lower bowl of Belk Arena will require a per seat donation to the Wildcat Excellence Fund. The Wildcat Excellence Fund was established as a part of a priority season ticket model to put Davidson more in line with our conference and national peers with funds directly enhancing Davidson’s scholar-athlete experience by increasing expendable scholarships and operating budgets for our 21 athletic programs.

We understand that this model is a change and our intent is not to over burden our loyal fans and supporters. We understand our fans operate within budgets and finite resources which is why we will continue to offer pricing options for every fan and household. For reference, our current season ticket and Fast Break Club pricing is still in the bottom half of the Atlantic 10.

Gifts that provide a donor the right to purchase tickets for seating at home athletic events are not deductible charitable contributions per Internal Revenue Code section 170(l). Q: Are prices increasing for the 2022-2023 men’s basketball season?

A: No. Season ticket prices will remain unchanged and there is no donation required to purchase 2022-2023 season tickets.

Q: Why are prices increasing?

A: After a study of our peers and industry practices, it was determined that, in order to best serve our scholar-athletes and compete at a championship level, an enhanced commitment to athletic scholarships and operational funding is needed.

Q: How did Davidson determine how much to increase men’s basketball seating prices?

A: A thorough, national evaluation of the Atlantic 10 and peer schools showed our current prices and revenue for men’s basketball were significantly less by comparison.

Q: Where will the revenue go?

A: All revenue generated from the new season ticketing model will directly support athletic scholarships and operations across all 21 programs.

Q: Are Sections 18, 19, 20 new student sections?

A: Yes, beginning the 2023-2024 season, sections 18,19 and 20 will become student seating to enhance their experience. And sections 4,6 and 8 will become available inventory for season ticket holders.

Q: How will existing season ticket holders be able to move or add seats?

A: Current donors and season ticket holders may request seat upgrades and relocations from year-to-year and will be accommodated based on availability in priority point order.

Q: Do women’s basketball tickets require a seat donation?

A: No. Only men’s basketball season tickets require a seat donation.

Q: When do I need to make a Wildcat Excellence donation to count toward my 2023-2024 tickets?

A: Donations can be made between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.

Q: Will sport specific donations count toward my donation?

A: Only gifts to the Wildcat Excellence Fund will satisfy the donation requirement.

Q: How do I make a gift to the Wildcat Excellence Fund?

A: You can make a gift online here or pay directly through Etix when season ticket renewals go live.

Q: How much will Fast Break Club prices be increasing?

A:Individual memberships will increase to $1,250 and family memberships will increase to $1,750 starting with the 2023-2024 men’s basketball season.

Q: Does my gift to the Wildcat Excellence fund qualify me as a member of the Fast Break Club?

A: No. Membership to the Fast Break Club is separate and more information about how to join can be found here.
