Kate, A Tar Heel Great

Faasse is the first UNC player to be named a Honda Award for Soccer finalist since Emily Fox in 2019-20. She is the 19th player in program history to be one of the top-4 players up for the award.

She is also the first Tar Heel to be chosen as a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist since Brianna Pinto in 2020, and the 20th player in school history to be named a top-3 finalist at least once in their career.

Additionally, the Phoenix, Arizona native is the first Tar Heel to be tabbed First Team All-America since Brianna Pinto in 2020. She is the 103rd player in UNC history to reach First Team status.

Lucky Number 13

Faasse became the outright nation’s leading scorer in the College Cup semifinals with 20 goals. Her eight game-winning goals on the year also lead the nation.

Her 44 points and 20 goals during the 2024 campaign are the most by a Tar Heel in a single season since Casey Nogueria in 2008. She is the eighth Carolina player to record 40+ points in one year since the turn of the century.

She also ranks first in the ACC and second in the NCAA with 44 points.
