I am Roxana a Senior in Englewood High school. There are a few things I like about this school that brought my attention like, the ceramics class and broadcasting program. I spent 3 years in ceramics class and 1 year in broadcasting program. Throughout my time in these courses I spent learning new things I was never tough before, like learning the behind the scences of how news broadcasters stream. I also learned how sports lives are also streamed. These were fascinating subjects to learn. Though they also teach the basic of straightening up you writing in a more professional manner.Although i'm not pursuing any type of education in the broadcasting field it is a great opportunity to explore different criterias to know all the many oppions that are available. There are also plenty of variety of sport programs two in which I participated in for 2-3 years. I played both soccer and volleyball.

SUMMARY
In my only year in the broadcast class I learned many things like doing podcast, livestreams, interviews and a bit of photography. I think the most interesting one to learn was interviews. They show what the community think about certain stories that are being written. Then learning the behind the scenes on how these are created like editing, cutting, and getting videos to insert. First starting it could get challenging, especially first learning how to maneuver around the websites that is being used. Though the most fun and creative one is making podcasts in which you can choose many variety of stories to do. I think everyone should get the chance to try this class to either learn new things or find a new interest from this class. This class also made you re-learn ethics and how to right properly to ensure what you are publishing is being followed with the right standards. When it comes to writing you need to make sure of three main things no biases, never chance what someone had said, and never forget ethics. When writing about a story you have to ensure that you are not making it your opinion. You write what has happened while doing this you have to make sure you are using words to describe/ inform. This helps avoid any biased opinion that can be formulated when reading though your article. When taking interview form people to be included into your writing, you should never change what they have said. This is their point of view of the what the story about and is sharing their experiences. There shouldn't be any add on from your opinion or else it'll make the story bias. While also writing up a story you also have to make sure you are not bashing any groups of people as this isn't ethical in writing. Following these principles it will ensure that you're telling a story and not your opinion. These types of lessons aren't only for this class but can be applied to any other class you take. This shows that this class is a great source of learning of many new things and many things that can he applied to what you learned.
