SPOKANE FIRE STATION #8

Spokane Fire Department (SFD) Station 8 proudly serves the easternmost portion of the City of Spokane in Chief Garry Park. Built in 1992, Station 8 houses Engine 8 with a crew of (3) three, who also cross-staff Brush 8, a wildland specific apparatus. Co-located with Engine 8 is Safety 1, the Safety Officer for the City of Spokane, who is responsible for safety at any fire or expanding scale incident in the city, as well as responding to all cardiac arrest calls. Station 8 is a primarily industrial and commercial district, with limited residential areas and an abundance of open land across the southern slopes of Beacon Hill. Station 8 is also responsible for Felts Field, Spokane’s first airport, which has been in continual use for approaching 100 years and is home to over 170 aircraft.
