Dear Bluejay Family,

Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas season was filled with love, joy, and quality time together. As we begin 2025, we are grateful for the health and safety of our community and the blessings of a new year ahead.

Please note that, in accordance with Governor Landry's executive order, our flag will be lowered to half-staff beginning Monday, January 6, and continue for one day for each of the victims of this senseless tragedy. Tuesday, January 7, is the day dedicated to STM Alum Tiger Bech. Let us keep all of the victims, their families, and all those affected in our prayers as we move forward with faith and hope in the new year.

This Monday, January 6, school will be closed as our faculty and staff gather for a retreat. This is a special time for us to reflect, renew, and prepare for the months ahead. We kindly ask for your prayers as we come together to deepen our commitment to serving your children.

We can’t wait to welcome our Bluejays back to campus on Tuesday, January 7, when classes resume! We look forward to hearing about their holiday adventures and diving back into the joy of learning together.

Thank you for your continued partnership and prayers. Here’s to a wonderful 2025!

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

SCS Yearbook Sale

The St. Cecilia School yearbook is now on sale! Save $5 if you purchase your yearbook before February 1st. ORDER NOW to reserve your copy. Dress Up Days

Fun dress week will now be combined with Catholic Schools Week as this is also a free dress week for students. Cafeteria Expansion Updates

St. Cecilia is very excited about the upcoming expansion of our cafeteria. Over the past several weeks, we have made great progress with the demolition of the music building and Jefferson house, and the process of selecting a contractor. We hope to begin construction very soon.

Stream lab supply needs

The STREAM lab is in need of a few supplies and you can help! If you have any empty toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes, they would be welcome supplies in our lab!

CHRISTMAS SEASON

We are still in the Christmas season! Christmas continues through this week and concludes with the celebration of Jesus' baptism on Sunday, January 12. Today is a special day that we call Epiphany, when we remember the journey of the wise men who followed the star to see the newborn King. This encounter forever changed their lives and impacted their next steps, boldly turning their backs on evil and turning toward good.

On this day let us make our own bold move toward good and let Jesus, our King, guide our steps.

Faculty/Staff Retreat

Please pray for our faculty/staff as we go on retreat tomorrow. This day helps us mentally and spiritually prepare for the semester and is a gift to our staff.

Dear Bluejay Family,

We hope that everyone had a restful and blessed Christmas and New Year holiday! Prior to our break for the holidays, our cheerleaders and 7/8th grade championship football team represented SCS in the annual Broussard Christmas Parade. Also, our 7/8th grade football team helped in restocking the Sacred Heart food pantry with 15 bags of groceries. We are now entering the final month of soccer and basketball for our Bluejays. Registration is closed for baseball and softball and is still ongoing for golf, track, tennis, and swimming. Our postseason tournaments for basketball and soccer will conclude the last week of January. On Saturday, our 8th grade boys basketball team had a treat and played an out of town game against Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge. Following the game, they attended the LSU men's basketball game and were recognized by the PA announcer! Thanks to coach David Andress for allowing the boys this great opportunity!

As a reminder as we play games next week, please refer to the Athletic Handbook. Admission is $6 for adults, and $1 for children. SCS students, staff and teachers as well as active duty military, veterans, and first responders are admitted free for home games in our gym. The schedules are available on our athletics page, where you can find all the information you need for Bluejay sports. Our 7/8th Grade Football Team’s championship gear is available to purchase.

Have a blessed day,

Scott Boudreaux
