We had our final session with Bridie this week and Carl came along too to record the session for the video! Lots of specialist equipment was brought along and we got to turn the classroom into a recording studio. We had some people recording solos and then group performances.
We also recorded the different dances to the lyrics of the songs. The class had fantastic questions and enthusiasm for the project and technicalities, we are all looking forward to the final product!
Art: Craft and design
This week our pots had dried so we got to paint them! Firstly, we had to make an earth-toned background colour for the whole pot to make it more accurate. They had a mixture of natural coloured paints to mix their own colour. Next, we will add on our design!
PSHE: Economic well-being
Following on from our learning last week, the class learnt about different careers and professions. They then made their own job card of what they would like to do when they are older and explained why.
Finally, the children discussed the different emotions associated with money by playing a board game together. They read different scenarios and decided how this would make them feel.
PE: Rugby
For our Monday PE lesson this week, the class focused on developing the skills of intercepting and dodging. They had to run with the rugby ball across the open space to each safety square, while the defenders in the green tried to get one of their tags. Some fantastic running and manoeuvring!
Science club week 5!
This week in science club, after checking our rhubarb plant, the class learnt about animals and how they adapt to their environments. Firstly, they worked in groups and used a key to try identify different animals from their paw prints. Next, they each created their own animal that needed to be adapted for a cold environment with tall trees. They drew their animal, wrote down its adaptations and then made it with plasticine.
