Croeso - The news this week
This week has been filled with joy, music and festive excitement as we move closer to the Christmas season. From a special performance by our very own young musicians to the success of our Christmas Fair, the whole school community has come together to share memorable moments and celebrate the start of this magical time of year.
Across the school, every class has now begun rehearsing for their Christmas plays and concerts. Whether they are learning lines, practising songs or creating props and backdrops, the children have thrown themselves into preparations with brilliant enthusiasm. It has been lovely to hear Christmas melodies drifting down the corridors and to see children working together to bring their performances to life. We cannot wait to share their hard work with families in the coming weeks!
On Thursday, we enjoyed a very special musical treat as our school’s brass band showcased their talents in a brilliant performance. These children have been learning to play brass instruments over the past term and Thursday’s showcase was the perfect opportunity for them to demonstrate the progress they’ve made. They performed two well-known pieces — “Hot Cross Buns” and the festive favourite “Jingle Bells.” For many, it was their first performance in front of the school and they did an incredible job. The audience was full of smiles and the enthusiastic applause at the end showed just how proud we all were of their hard work and courage.
The highlight of the week was our wonderful Christmas Fair, which was a tremendous success! Families gathered to enjoy an evening filled with festive fun, laughter and community spirit. The hall was buzzing as children proudly showed their families around the stalls and joined in the activities. Our games and activity stalls kept everyone entertained, with plenty of friendly competition, cheering and excitement. Children enjoyed carefully icing and decorating festive biscuits (and sneaking a few tastings along the way!). One of the biggest attractions was the raffle, featuring fantastic prizes donated by generous families and local businesses.
The fair not only brought joy to our community but also helped raise valuable funds to support school projects and enrichment opportunities for our pupils. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, or supported the event in any way. Your contributions made the fair a joyful celebration and a wonderful start to our festive activities.
We look forward to even more Christmas magic in the weeks ahead!
Credit Union
Our Year 6 School Accountants have settled confidently into their roles, warmly welcoming new savers and guiding them through the saving process. They’ve shown great leadership in helping younger students understand financial responsibility and the importance of managing their money wisely.
If you would like to join the Young Savers with the Credit Union please pop along to the Cafe at 8.40 on a Friday morning to see what it's all about.

Prynhawn da pawb!
This week, Year 1 were learning all about the digestive system — and things got VERY messy (in a good way)!
They started by pretending a sandwich bag was their stomach. They put biscuits inside to act as the food and added water to be the stomach bile. Then they squeezed and squashed the bag to see how the stomach breaks everything down. It looked a bit disgusting but Year 1 absolutely loved it and couldn’t stop laughing!
After that, they learnt about the large intestine. To show how it works, they pushed small balls through tights to see how food moves through the body. Everyone got really into it, cheering each other on as the “food” made its way through the “intestine.”
The children said it was a fun way to learn about the body.
Hwyl pawb!

Keeping Active
Staying active is an important part of keeping both our bodies and minds healthy. This week, we are encouraging everyone to find fun and simple ways to move more each day. To get started, take a look at this short video:
There are lots of enjoyable ways to stay active—going for a walk, trying a quick 5-minute workout, joining a club, practising some calming yoga or exploring a brand-new activity. Any exercise that gets your heart beating a little faster, strengthens your body and boosts your mood is a great choice. Why not try one of these fun dance routines with your friends or family?
Have fun, stay active, and keep looking after your wellbeing!
